Chiquita Banana Sing Off Contest

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Chiquita Banana jingle, so  they're looking for the next Chiquita star to sing their iconic song. The winner will receive an Under the Peel Adventure Kit – chock full of Chiquita swag plus $5,000! 

So how do you sign up? All you have to do is visit the Chiquita website and sing the Chiquita Banana song with your own flair. Not a karaoke master? No worries. You have three options to participate – music video, sing-a-long or you can upload your photo into a fun banana video – choose the one that best fits you! You can even scope out other top banana entries on the Chiquita website for inspiration.

I'm definitely no karaoke master, so I opted for the Bananagram. I selected the original commercial, and had get my face superimposed over the Chiquita singer. Making the video is really simple. All you have to do is upload your photo, adjust it to size, and the program creates the video for you. You can share it with your friends so you all have a good laugh. It's tons of fun AND you have a chance of winning some serious cash.  You can view my video here.

In addition to allowing me to take part in this amazing sweepstakes, Chiquita Banana also used this opportunity to make a difference. For every blogger who participated in this program, they sent a whole case of bananas to the food panty of our choice.

My case of bananas in being send to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, a local outreach whose doors are open to anyone in need. In addition to offering food, they offer a friendly atmosphere and even a playground for kids. They were so excited to hear about the banana donation. It's going to help out a lot of people. So thanks, Chiquita Banana, for giving me a chance to have some fun and make a difference at the same time.
