Tips for Kids in Heart Health Month from Good2Grow

February is Heart Health Month, and while most associate this with adult health, working toward a healthy heart is important for children as well. See below for a few tips on how improve your child’s heart health in fun and easy ways:

·        Eat the colors of the Rainbow. The more natural colors on your plate coming from fruit and veggies, the better! For example, carrots, spinach, and red bell peppers are all different colors and contain different nutrients, and are all good for a healthy heart.

·        Get moving! Encourage your kids to get out and play. Learn a new sport as a family, spend an hour at a local park, or take a walk around the block. This is a great way for the whole family to stretch their legs and get some quality bonding time.

·        Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more. Hydration is essential in keeping a child healthy, especially after physical activity. If your child doesn’t typically enjoy the taste of water, try naturally flavored waters, like new good2grow Organic Juicy Waters.  These waters are 25% juice, making the taste more fun to drink. good2grow also has popular character tops that kids love, like SponegeBob and Patrick, just in time for the new movie.

My Thoughts

good2grow fruit juices  have always been a fun and unique way to give kids a serving of fruits and vegetables, but they offer even more advantages because they have organic varieties.  Each bottle is made with real juice and loaded with vitamins, but they also feature a variety of different character designs kids will love. Choose from super heroes, Scooby Doo, Disney favorites or Nickelodeon regulars.  My son is obsessed with the Avengers, so I know the good2grow beverages featuring his superheroes would be a huge hit.

Toddlers usually aren't very good about eating their vegetables and my son is no exception. So I love that there are juice blends from good2grow that include veggies. Others are organic and sugar free, so you're sure to find something that is just right for everyone. Being able to sip from cups with their favorite characters is all the encouragement kids need to chug it down. I was also excited to see they offer refill bottles. This allows you to get the most from the character designs without it costing an arm and a leg. They are perfect for lunch boxes or to carry in your diaper bag. The toppers never leak and my children loved all the flavors. It's the fun way to keep kids hydrated!
