From The Company

Pairing Coffee and Love

Valentine’s Day. You can smell the love in the air! Or is it just Community® coffee brewing? We consistently talk about coffee pairings and it only makes sense to provide Valentine’s Day perfect pairings for you and your perfect match.

Here are some irresistible combinations for you and your special someone.

Here’s a duo to help you start your Valentine’s morning off right. It only makes sense to try our Breakfast Blend and blueberry pancakes as a morning delight.  Breakfast is right there in the title. You can also impress your honey with the rich yet smooth taste of medium-dark roast Café Special®. Pair it with your favorite breakfast foods like cinnamon scones or sausage casserole.

Community® coffee French Roast and brownies are a perfect combination to get you through the day. The rich chocolate in this treat plays very well with the full-bodied and smoky taste of this coffee.  If you’d like a less smoky flavor, pair rich chocolate desserts with premium dark roast coffees, like our Dark Roast Signature Blend.

Our Café Special blends well with a creamy dessert like coconut custard or bananas foster. Creamy desserts and sweet cakes, such as cheesecake work well with this semi-sweet, full-bodied medium-dark roast coffee.

In folklore, strawberries are considered to be the fruit of love and are claimed to be able to attract new love and to renew old love. Regardless, there’s no denying that strawberries are a delicious fruit that can be enjoyed fresh from the field or baked into pies and coffee cakes. When pairing your passion fruit in a pastry or pie, consider the fragrant, sweet and smooth flavor of our Breakfast Blend to complement your fruited cuisine.

A general rule of coffee-pairing thumb is the richer the dessert (i.e. chocolate, praline or peanut butter flavoring), the darker the roast. If you need help finding a great heart-felt recipe, with some even utilizing Community® coffee as an ingredient, check out -- www.communitycoffeerecipes.com.

Take our advice and surprise your Valentine this year with one of our perfect pairings. What’s not to love?

My Thoughts

Having a good cup of coffee in the morning is always important.  If you're looking for a great cup of quality coffee for a reasonable price, you should check out Community Coffee. They have an amazing selection of traditional blends like dark roast and hazelnut, and they also offer unique specialty blends you won't be able to find anywhere else, like their Founders Blend or their French Quarter Fusion.  All their coffee is roasted in New Orleans so you're getting all the fun of Mardi Gras in every bag you open.

For my review, I was able to try out four different blends. They were all so amazing, I can't begin to pick a favorite, so here's a little about each one in random order.

House Blend - This is a medium-dark roast. The kind of coffee that is perfect to wake up to in the morning.  The flavor is rich and smooth, never bitter. I just added a little flavored creamer and I felt like I was at a coffee house.

Cafe Special - This is an extra dark roast. You can't help but admire the rich color of the brewed coffee. It tastes even more amazing than it smells. It's great as a plain cup of coffee, but I also found this coffee was strong enough to use to make lattes. They came out perfectly every time.

Golden Caramel - Oh my goodness, this is heaven! It's so smooth and buttery you won't even need to add sugar. The caramel flavor blended with the delightful dark roast will leave your mouth watering every time.

Mardi Gras King Cake - This blend will keep the Mardi Gras Celebration going all year long. Inspired by the famous King Cake of New Orleans, this coffee contains hints of cinnamon and vanilla and tastes just as delicious in your cup as it does on your plate.

In addition to individual bags of coffee and single cups, Community Coffee also offers tea and a wide selection of gift sets that would be perfect for any occasion.  They have a Coffee Club to ensure that you always have fresh coffee waiting and it's delivered right to your door step. But one of the features I like best about this company is their Military Match program.  If you buy four bags of coffee for anyone stationed overseas, they will match it and send four more.  I appreciate any company that supports our troops.
