Movie Review : 12 Dog Days Till Christmas

When charming yet misguided juvenile delinquent Jack Whitley gets in trouble again just a few weeks before Christmas, he is sent to his probation officer Art Davis. Art gives Jack a community service task he hopes will ultimately change Jack for the better--to help clean up a local animal shelter that will soon be closing its doors. Jack soon meets the three girls who run it: the bubbly Blair, beautiful Hillary, and Hillary's tomboy-ish stepsister Ryan. When Jack sets his sights on scoring a date with Hillary, Ryan promises him a date with her stepsister if only Jack will use his charms to help place each of the dogs in homes so that none will be euthanized in the city shelter. Jack reluctantly agrees, but the more time he spends around the homeless pups, the more he starts to realize that his own life in and out of foster homes just might parallel that of the sweet pups

My thoughts:

This is an absolutely great family holiday movie.  In fact a great movie to watch anytime. Especially if you have a love for animals and children.

In the beginning Jack gets himself into trouble, and when he is sent back to his probation officer, you learn that this isn't his first time.  Jack is also already in his ninth foster home with a couple and two other children.  And they also are not happy with his behavior.

When Jack receives his community service at the local animal shelter, that three young girls run,    things start to turn around for him.  But they soon find out that on Christmas Eve the shelter will be closing for good, and if the eleven dogs that are there aren't adopted out they will be sent to the local shelter, and most likely euthanized.  So Jack and Ryan team up on a mission to find these dogs homes in just two short weeks.

In the midst of all of this, Jack learns that his two foster brothers are being adopted out and his foster parents are moving to Arizona.

Jack and his Probation Officer become close, and I don't want to give any of this heartfelt story away. You will have to watch this movie.
