We have just the games for cat lovers or dog enthusiasts. The game play is the same for both games: draw from the stack or “go fish” from another player’s hand to collect cards that match all of the pet necessities and accessories of the cat or do you want to adopt. Collect everything the animal needs and adopt it!

Games feature pets crowdsourced from Educational Insights fans. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 4 and up. SRP: $14.99 each. Available at www.educationalinsights.com, amazon.com and specialty toy stores.

My Thoughts

Diggity Dogs is an adorable card game geared toward children four years and older. It's a matching game that is a similar concept as Go-Fish, but with a fun twist kids will love. Each player gets a die cast dog that they place on a plastic stand. On that card, there is a list of all the dog's favorite things. It's your job to collect them all. You need to collect all the items in order to adopt your favorite dog. You collect these items the same way you would "fish" in the Go-Fish game. Either ask another player or pick from the pile of cards. Once you have gathered everything you need, you can try to adopt another dog. Whoever has the most pets at the end of the game is the winner.

My daughter is four and she can't get enough of this game. She thinks the dogs are adorable and she loves gathering all the necessities they need. Not only does it teach her matching skills, but it also encourages her to get involved in the responsibilities of our real dog. It's a simple game, but it also builds social skills and helps teach counting. Any child who loves dogs would enjoy trying out this game. If you're more of a cat person, there's a kitty version as well.
