My Thoughts

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is really hot right now. My kids have all the action figures, but Power Wheels has made it possible for them to get into the action like never before with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Kawasaki KFX. Little ones will feel like they're riding along with their favorite heroes every time they climb aboard.

Our experience with the Power Wheels was great from the start. Assembly wasn't nearly as complicated as I expected. Using just a few tools, my husband was able to get it together in about fifteen minutes. The most difficult part was getting the tires aligned just right, but even that was simple once he got the hang of it. The manual includes illustrations and step-by-step instructions that are easy for anyone to follow. You won't need to be a master builder. Adding the stickers is the final touch to give it a real TMNT feel.

Once we had our Power Wheels Kawasaki assembled it was time to take it out for a test drive and I had two very excited drivers. I have both a three year old boy and a four year old boy and they were both anxious to give it a try. I let my daughter go first since she is a little older. Of the two, she did have more control and mastered the steering pretty quickly. She was driving around the trees in our yard, going in reverse, and stopping independently. My son had a little more trouble and kept crashing into things, but he still had a good time.

The Kawasaki works perfectly on both cement and grass. Since my children are on the younger side, we mostly stuck with the grassy area in our backyard because they couldn't go as fast and we didn't have to worry as much about traffic or scraped knees if they had an accident. But we really had no issues.  The vehicle is sturdy with nice big wheels that offer plenty of traction. The car goes up to six miles per hour and has a turbo feature, but this can be disabled for younger riders. If they get stuck on a bump, they can easily shift gears and go in reverse. The steering is easy to control and handle bars are easy to grip.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Kawasaki KFX is tons of fun for kids, but parents please remember to be responsible. Children should never be left unattended on this toy. Though it has a maximum speed of only six miles per hour, kids could still ram into things or topple over if they aren't monitored. But as long as everyone acts responsibly, this toy is just awesome. If you're looking for a great gift for a fall birthday or want to get a head start on  holiday shopping, the Power Wheels Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Kawasaki KFX is a great choice.
