The demand for women’s fashionable sports apparel is on the rise as more females are participating as rampant fans of professional and amateur sports. In fact, most purchasing power in the past couple of years is from females becoming huge college sports fans. Prep Sportswear (a division of Sportswear Inc.) today announces their new Sparkle Twill™ line - a female design technique that is available across all sports segments from professional to amateur teams and mascots, including high school down to the elementary market.
But the more I think on it, the more I like the idea of what PrepSportswear is trying to do. I love pink, but let's be real, it doesn't HAVE to be pink. And some more options for us would be nice, and guess what?? They do high school teams! They do elementary teams! They will make a shirt of your kid's team!
When I was offered a shirt, I just immediately searched for a NY team. All my favorite teams are based in New York, and then I saw this awesome shirt with the most glittery letters ever!! I love bling! I confess! So, even though I didn't really don't know who the Lizards are--hey, they're based in NY, they must be good, right? (It's LaCrosse though. I had to Google it.)--I had to have this shirt.
This shirt, first of all, is so very very soft!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See all those exclamation marks. I'm dead serious. I'm amazed at the way it feels against my skin. It truly feels like a baby blanket made of the softest-ever fleece. This is not your average sweatshirt, I will say that.
You can also get the shirt and any other shirt in a variety of Lizard designs. If you're a fan another team in another sport, you have similar options. I looked up sports teams in Montana for example, and Puerto Rico.
There's no end to the options.
Now, the shirt I got, I want to point out it's sparkle twill. None of the pictures do this shirt justice!!!! No picture, not my own, not the copy and pasted ones, really show you how sparkly the letters are. It's not possible. It's fantastic! It really really shines.
I can't disagree with that.
They have non bling shirts too, as you can see above.
There's military, college teams, sweatshirts, hats, T-shirts, tanks, fleece, vintage, sparkle, non-sparkle... women's, men's, kids, big & tall. There's Australian teams, Greek teams... There's an adventure series featuring national parks and even shirts honoring races--running, cycling, swimming, etc. Did I mention there's also cell phone and kindle skins?
I am truly amazed at what all they offer and I love the quality of the shirt I received. I tried to provide links to all the things I mentioned, but truly you must go to the site and choose your sports team, then browse the offerings. Upon first entering the website, you'll see the sports options at the top of the page. You narrow down your search in just a few clicks and then you'll see about 5 pages (depending on the team) of quality apparel on offer for that team...or race...or gov't agency...or park...or military branch.
Each option tells you what brand it is as well, in case you're particular about that. Brands include Dickie's, Holloway, Nike, New Balance, Ogio, Adidas, and more. There's 100% cotton and also organic.
Something else I think is cool about this company and their offerings is, well, as the founder and CEO Chad Hartvigson says, "Just because you go to the same school doesn’t mean you are the same person."
When I was in school, I never bought a school team shirt. You know why? They were fugly. They weren't in colors I cared for. Black and gold. Bleh. They all looked the same too, so if I'd bought a shirt, I'd be wearing the exact same shirt--in colors I don't care for--as 500 other students. Where's the fun in that?
With PrepSportswear, there are no worries about not being unique. Go the site, type in your school team, pick a shirt (or hat or cell phone case or whatever) in the color you want, pick the logo style you want, get it in sparkle twill if that's your thing, and voila! I guarantee nobody will have the same shirt and everyone will be asking you, "Where'd you get that????"
But I digress. Let's back to talking about sports apparel for women. I'm not normally a copy and paste type of blogger, but I seriously like what they had to say:
“We are forging a more feminine look that resonates with female athletes or fans across the board,” states Chad Hartvigson CEO of Prep Sportswear. “Women are constantly seeking innovative and stylish apparel and now we offer a unique design for all ages.”
On that note, don't hesitate. Go check it out for yourself, whether you need a shirt featuring your kid's team or maybe your daughter would like to look a little different from the other kids when she supports her team. Don't just shrink it and pink it, glitterfy it! (Or I should say, sparkle twill it!)
