Give the Gift of Music this Holiday Season with Music & Arts - Review & #Giveaway

No matter what holiday you celebrate this season, the picture is the same. After your children have ripped open their presents, your living room is a sea of discarded wrapping paper and bows and shinny new toys. As you settle in with a cup of coffee, enjoying the satisfaction of another holiday well done, you are greeted not by the sounds of your children’s laughter, but instead by the sound of a gun ripping through the chest of a “bad guy,” courtesy of the latest shoot-em-up video game that you just bought your child.

What if instead you got to enjoy the sounds of your child playing on their very first instrument, beginning a lifelong musical journey that will have lasting effects?

Countless studies have shown that children who play musical instruments perform better academically, from higher SAT scores to being better equipped to comprehend mathematical and scientific concepts.

So this holiday season, Music & Arts, the nation’s largest school music company and provider of lessons in the country, invites parents to give their children the gift of music this holiday season. Music & Arts’ stores, both online and at more than 115 locations around the country, are packed with everything a young musician needs, from instruments and accessories to lessons and sheet music. Their Holiday Gift Guide has the perfect present for musicians of all levels, including beginner, intermediate and advanced.

 My Thoughts

My husband is a saxophone player. One of the things he really needed this year was a new amp. A lot of people think amps are only for guitars, but other instruments need to be heard as well. At Music Arts, we found a Kustom amplifier that is perfect compliment to husband's sax.

Not only does the Kustom amp have a clean sound, the vintage style look is perfect for a jazz band playing old covers. When he uses it, he hooks the amp up to his microphone and plays his sax into it. Sometimes it's hard to find an amp that will work without a lot of squeaking or feedback, but this one was easy to adjust and provided a great sound. It's also lightweight and easy to carry around to gigs. It doesn't take up a lot of space in the car or on the stage.  Here is a little video of my husband trying out his new amp and telling you a little more about it.

The Kustom amp is only one of thousands of gifts you can find at Music & Arts for the artistically inclined.  They also offer all types of instruments including strings, brass and drums, as well as every accessory a musician could ever need.  A great place to start looking is their Gifts under $100 section. You can even get free shipping on all orders over $9.99 by entering the code FREESHIP at checkout.  For all your music needs through the holidays and beyond, be sure to visit Music &Arts  for the best in quality and pricing!
