Set in England’s picture-perfect but perilous Midsomer County, Set 22’s episodes have not aired on U.S. television. Disc 1
SLEEPER UNDER THE HILL

The murdered man had planned to plough Gorse Meadow, making Crowcall Circle inaccessible to the group led by high priests Ezra and Leticia.  Barnaby and Jones are joined in their investigation by new pathologist Kate Wilding. The body left on the bloodstone is her first assignment, but Kate doesn’t shock easily.

Disc 3
A SACRED TRUST
The cloistered world of Midsomer Priory is forced to open its doors to 21st century policing when a nun is strangled to death. Teenage liaisons, missing antique silver and holy orders add up to make a complex investigation for Barnaby and Jones.

A row between keen birdwatchers in Midsomer-in-the-Marsh turns nasty when their president is killed. Patrick Morgan met his death while hoping to sight a rare bird, but is his obsession with ornithology to blame - or something more sinister?

 My Thoughts

If you are a fan of "Law & Order", you are going to love its British rural counterpart, "Midsomer Murders". In the county of Midsomer, things aren't always what they seem, and there is murder lurking behind many of the well trimmed hedges. The series, which was inspired by the novels by Caroline Graham, offers a selection of murder mysteries filled with intrigue and drama. I received the Midsomer Murder Set 22 to review, and although I have only seen the series in bits and pieces,  I was able to follow along with no trouble. Each episode stands on its own and offers its own unique and suspenseful storyline.

The season reunites a great cast with lots of British humor and wonderfully written mysteries. I loved that druids came into play this season. The face off between the detectives and the high priests were humorous  to watch. Next a tax collector shows up dead in a vat of cider, a nun is strangled, and the president of a bird club in killed. I love how each mystery is unique and doesn't follow the modern trends. The best part of Midsomer Murders is how there is always a little humor along with the intriguing plot. Violence is minimal, but the thrilling aspects remain, in between bouts of laughter. Definitely one of my favorite British series.

In addition to the full season of episodes, the DVD set also includes cast interviews as well as fascinating facts and productions notes. If you want to get the advantage of a full set of amazing  stories that will leave you on the edge of your seat, than this is the box set for you. You can order Midsomer Murders Set 22 for only $49.99 at Acorn Media.
