Book Review & Giveaway - The Big Bad Wolf Goes on Vacation by DelPhine Perret

***Complimentary product product received in exchange for an  honest review***

The BIG BAD WOLF is back—and funnier (but not scarier) than ever!

A wolf deserves a vacation too! Bernard, the ferociously funny wolf and clever, cookie-munching hero of Delphine Perret's award-winning book, certainly thinks so. So when he learns that his pal Louis is vacationing by the sea with his grandpa, Bernard wants to go too. He promises not to eat any children along the way (he’s a vegetarian).

Soon they're off on a wacky road trip complete with car seats filled with cookie crumbs and lots of laughs along the way.  The trip culminates with the perfect day on the beach where the three joyfully race into the sea.

My Thoughts

The Big Bad Wolf Goes on Vacation is about a little boy who befriends the Big Bad Wolfe. His grandmother comes to take him to the beach and the wolf has to pretend to be a dog. Most of the book is the actual traveling. They stop for snacks, go to the park, and through toll booths. The story uses simple words making it a good book for early readers to practice reading independently. I like this aspect of it. Storyline wise, it didn't have much of a plot. It wasn't exciting. There were no real lesson to be learned. It was just a drive with grandpa, except the wolf happened to be tagging along.  The illustrations are  spaced out almost like a comic book without the squares. This confused my son when he was trying to read it because he wasn't sure whether to go up and down or side to side..  There is something to be said for simplicity, but my children did not take well to these very basic illustrations. The younger ones had no interest in having it read to them because the pictures didn't grab their attention and the older kids found the storyline dull. The idea of the story was intriguing but just really didn't grab our attention as much as I would have liked. All in all, I give this book 3 stars.

The items offered here would put everlasting smiles on faces of those at where I love to volunteer! Each person might / might not have a particular favorite, but I'd be honored to just get any item! As each gift received is like that of when I was a child: I'd be so grateful to get the item but I know there's others less fortunate. So I'd give it to places like a hospital with information about the person(s) / company that I won / got it from!

If I did give it to a family member it would be my relative that has epilepsy and RSD / CRPS! He was and continues being teased for multi-different things but always comes home with a smile & encourage to return to the same predicament. And I was in an accident (that wasnt my fault) a while back and havent been able to afford a gift for anyone in my family. This would be that gift in which will always be remembered!
