If You Care Review & Giveaway (5 Winners)

Its not always easy to run a green household. There are so many things I need, like foil and sandwich bags, and in local stores, there are no green choices. So I either have to try to find alternatives in my cabinets, which rarely works, or feel guilty over making unnecessary waste.  Until now. Thanks to If You Care, and their amazing line of household products, I can get the things I need without the guilt.  They make it easy to be a green mama.

If You Care makes all of their products from unbleached paper, recycled ingredients, and wood. They choose only the best materials to go into their products to have as small an impact on the environment as possible.  I was lucky enough go receive one of each of their amazing products to review, and while I haven't had to try out each and every one of them yet, I thought I would highlight a few of my favorites that  I know I will use everyday.

The first thing I tried were their coffee filters. They are available in a wide range of sizes including basket filters in No. 2, 4 and 6. The two and four I tried this morning and they work just as well as other brands. There were no coffee grinds in the coffee and it tasted just as good. The filters are tan instead of white because the paper is unbleached which is healthier for us as well as the environment.  They are the first FSC certified filters on the market.

Another item I use almost everyday is foil. The If You Care Foil is made from 100% recycled aluminum, and it can be recycled again and again. There are no toxins or glues on the box and its suitable for vegetarians and vegans.  It worked great for cooking as well as storing leftovers. It is very sturdy and will hold up to your toughest situations.

One of my favorite products is the sandwich bags. I pack my kids lunch everyday so I try to use reusable containers as much as possible. But they are kids and they tend to lose them. The sandwich bags from If You Care are paper, not plastic. They are made from recycled paper and are biodegradable so we can throw them away without feeling guilty.

These are only a few examples of the amazing products you can find at If You Care. They also have parchment paper, baking cups, gloves, cheese cloth and more.  Whatever you need for your kitchen projects, you are sure to find it at If You Care.  They are a little more money than average, but if you care about the Earth, they are worth a little bit of extra expense. You can find these terrific products at Whole Foods, or check their store locator for another store near you.  They provide the quality you need as well as a better alternative for our planet.  So check them out today and get on the road to living green.

I learned that the energy equivalent of 1 gallon of fuel produces 2.78 lbs virgin aluminum, while only 0.05 gallons is required to produce 2.78 lbs recycled aluminum. I am so glad to know about this company as a source for recycled aluminum--production of aluminum is not only energy consumptive,it's a filthy business.

Around three billion bushels of soybeans are grown each year, creating a sustainable resource that’s replenished with every harvest. The soybean industry also has a major impact on the U.S. economy. The crop in the U.S. alone is valued at $27 billion. Add soybean processing and product manufacturing to its economic value, and there is no question that soybeans create American jobs and have a multiplier effect on economic growth.
