The Essential Carole King CD Review

When I was a little girl, I would often sneak down the stairs on summer nights and watch my family hanging out in the backyard, enjoying a drink and listening to music in the cool night air.  My mom and her sisters and even my grandparents would sing along to whatever was playing on the radio. When I was a little older, I finally got to join in on those evening sing alongs. One of our favorite performers was always Carole King. Her lyrics and both catchy and heartfelt. When I hear her songs today, I'm always reminded of those far away summers and especially of my grandparents who are no longer with us. 

Now it will be even easier for me to reminisce because Sony Music has just released a two disk compilation of all of Carole's greatest songs entitled "The Essential Carole King". This CD includes some of my all time favorites like  "You've Got  A Friend" and "I Feel the Earth Move".  But what makes it really unique is that is only contains a CD of songs that Carole wrote, like the "Loco-Motion" performed by Billy Joel and "Hey Girl" performed by Billy Joel.  The sound quality on this CD is amazing and the songs flow together perfectly. Now I can bring my own children out on the deck for an all night medoly and carry on a family tradition.

Tree Hut Review

Brazilian Nut is something I had never heard of before discovering Tree Hut. But now that I have tried it, I don't think I can ever go  back. I was sent a selection of their products to try out, and I can't tell you how much I love them. Not only to they smell AMAZING and leave skin soft and touchable, they are also made with all natural ingredients. They even contain vitamins like E & A to help keep skin healthy.

I got to try the Brazilian Nut Lotion, Body Wash, and Body Butter. The first thing I noticed about these products is that the bottles are a nice and big. They are actually going to last awhile. The body wash creates a nice lather and doesn't leave any soapy residues. The lotion and body butter goes on smooth and doesn't make my skin greasy. The Brazilian Nut scent is perfect for summer.  It really makes me feel like I'm spending a day at the beach. Best of all, these products are paraden , DMDM and sulfate free. Plus they are not tested on animals.

Happy Memorial Day From New Age Mama

Pyur Review

Its not often that you find a company that makes skin care products for the whole family from mommy to baby. But luckily enough, I came across one that does. Whether I need belly butter to  help elimate stretch marks or diaper balm for my baby, I can find it all at Pyur.   Their wonderful line of skincare products are 100% natural, paraben free, cruetly free, and even certified vegan.

Pyur was nice enough to send me the cutest little sample bag. They even personlized it by giving each one of my kids their own sample of soap with their name on it. This really made them feel special. The soaps themselves have a light, crisp scent and leaves skin feeling rose-petal soft.  The baby lotion is gentle and safe for a newborns skin and the belly butter not only smells wonderful but is great for preventing stretch marks. Both leave no greasy residue. 

We also got a sample of the Eucalytus Chest Rub which really came in handy this week since my kids had a cold. Rubbing a little on their chest really helped clear their nasal passages and let them get a good night's sleep. But my favorite thing of all was their Relaxing Bath Salts. It comes in a little hemp bag that you just let soak in the water, kind of like a giant tea bag. It actually contains real lavender, rose petals, and chamomille. It smells wonderful and is incredibly relaxing.

Our regular brand  only runs about $50 a month. This would be a huge increase. One I can't justify making when we're living on one income. I love my dog, but I need to feed three kids too. I am, however, keeping this site bookmarked in case my finances change. Father's Day Gift Guide-Anne Marie Borlind Natural Care for Men Review

With Father's Day on the horizon, we are all looking for that perfect gift for him. Well, one thing to keep in mind is that men need good skin care products just as much as women do. For our review, we received several products from the men's line that my husband was thrilled to be able to try out.  First of all, I have to say how much I love the scent. You may, however, have to worry about controlling your hormones because when your hubby smells this good you might just want to drag him to the bedroom:)

 My husband also loved these products. The gel creates a nice lather that he said left him feeling really clean, but left no behind no residue like some soaps can. The after shave was wonderful! My husband has very corse facial hair and trying to shave it can leave his skin raw. But after using the after shave gel from Anne Marie Borlind, he had no razor burn at all. Lastly, was the lotion. He has never really been big on lotions, but he had to admit that it left his skin feeling a lot softer than it normally does. Plus it was much more hydrated which is important when he's working in a hot kitchen all day.

Biokleen Review & Giveaway

There are several things I look for when it comes to cleaning products. The first is that they are as natural as possible. I don't like to use products that have a harsh chemical smell, especially not around my children. Its also important to me that the products I use are cruelty free. And of course, it also has to actually get things clean. The cleaning products at Biokleen fit this bill completely. They come in  light natural scents like lavender and grapefruit. They are not tested on animals and contain no animal ingredients. And they get things really clean. As their slogan states, they are "tough on dirt but gentle on the earth".

The first thing I tried out was the Citrus All Temperature Laundry Liquid.  I loved how well this worked. It left my clothes soft and static free. Its made with grapefuit seed and orange peel which is a very uplighting scent. I really enjoyed snuggling under the sheets after washing them with this detergent.  Plus, its super concentrated. You only need to use one or two teaspoons per load. The smaller bottle creates less waste. And of course the bottle can, and should, be recycled.

I also got to try the Bac-Out Bathroom Cleaner in Lavender-Lime.  Once again this scent combination is a real winner. It leaves the bathroom smelling fresh and elimates the need for any air freshener. It does a great job removing soap scum and even got the mold off the bottom of the shower curtain which is something I always struggle with.  There was only one thing that I found disappointing about this company. That was their packaging. The products came wrapped in plastic bubble wrap which is odd for a green company. I would really like to see them switch to something a little more earth friendly.

There are some days when I just don't feel like cooking. Like last night when my husband was working and my two older kids were visiting their father.  I didn't want to have to be bothered with cooking and cleaning up just for myself.
