Holiday Gift Guide - Konexi Review

If you are looking for a last minute holiday gift idea for an older child, then Konexi is a great game to consider. Anyone who enjoys a good word game is going to love the 3D game, Konexi. Its an exciting way to develop spelling and vocabulary skills in children 10 and older.  And even the adults in the house will enjoy the challenge of stacking words in this gravity defying game.

Konexi includes 26 3D letters, 1 Die, 1 mover token, and a pad and pencil for score keeping.  How it works is that you roll the dice and move to token  You will have to choose one of the letters on either side of the token. You will have to add that letter to the ever growing tower. If you make a word, you receive one point for each letter in that word. If you knock down the tower on your turn, you loose three points. Whoever has the most points at the end of the game will be the winner.

This game is unique because it gives you a double challenge. You have to be able to think of words and have good reflexes. The fact that you have no idea what letter you'll be working with from turn to turn, makes it so older players don't really have an advantage over the younger players.  This is the perfect game for family game night and a great choice for a holiday gift. You can find it in specialty stores nationwide as well as Barnes & Noble for the low price of $19.99.
