Paper Mate Plant-A-Pen Blog Tour

In the New Age Mama household, we do our best to think green. We use canvas bags for shopping,  cloth diapers for the baby, and we recycle every chance we get. But there are so many other little things you can do to help the planet. For example, starting off the school year right by buying the brand new biodegradable ball point pens and click pencils from Paper Mate.

Thanks to Mom Central, I had the chance to learn about these exciting new products first hand. The Paper Mate Biodegradable pens are designed to break down in soil or compost. When you're finished with your pen, you just take it apart and bury the biodegradable parts (instructions are included in the package). The pens are made from a material called Mirel which is derived from natural components and breaks down in soil to make less waste. Of course, the pens themselves live up the high quality you would expect from anything made by Paper Mate. They write in smooth and vivid colors and will last for months at a time.

To learn more about the Paper Mate's new line, check out the Paper Mate Green website.  While you're at, make sure to visit out their face book page. They are hosting a sweepstakes where you can win $15,000 in paper mate products for your school. And this year, when its time to go school shopping, make sure you have the Paper Mate Biodegradable pens on your shopping list. A pen may seem like a little thing, but if every student in America used only these biodegradable pens, think of the difference it would make.

***I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Paper Mate and received the products necessary to facilitate my review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate***
