Healthy Baby Home Party
I was very excited to learn I had been chosen to host a Healthy Baby Home Party. Yo Baby and Seventh Generation are two of my favorite brands. They were generous enough to sponsor this fun event. This past weekend, I was able to get 10 mom's and 18 kids involved in our get together. It was a great experience and we all learned new ways to help out mother earth.
Setting up for the party was simple since the sponsors gave me everything I needed. I started out by sending email invites so no paper would be wasted. Then I was off to the market to pick up a few tubs of Yo-Baby organic yogurt. When the big day finally arrived, I make gift bags for my guests using little hemp bags that are reusable and completely biodegradable. Everyone got to try a ton of coupons and trial sizes of baby wipes, laundry detergent and dish soap. They were a big hit all around, and several of the girls emailed me later to tell me how great the lavender and eucalyptus made their laundry smell.
There were lots of fun activities planned for the party. First of all, everyone got to taste the Stonyfield yogurt. Everyone loved it, especially the kids. The best thing about this yogurt isn't just that its organic--it also tastes great. You don't have to be a baby to appreciate it. We sat back with our snacks to watch the DVD that came with my party kit called "A Wake Up Story". It really helped to open your eyes about all the things we are doing to our world with chemicals and what we can do to change things.
Next we had the kids decorate some post cards. We sent them off to Congress so they know just how strongly we feel about chemicals and pollution and asking them to help us make a difference. And finally, we sat down for a fun filled game of Healthy Home Bingo. My friend Katrina was the lucky grand prize winner. She won the coupons for free yogurt and diapers for her daughter Jessica, along with the growth chart. A few other winners also received some coupons for a free pack of yogurt.
All in all, it was a great night. There's nothing better than getting together with friends. Except when you're getting together for a purpose. And what better purpose is there than making our homes healthy.
