Bubble Chocolate Review & Giveaway (Five Winners)

You might have seen or heard about Bubble Chocolate. It is made by infusing chocolate with air. If you're anything like me, you probably found this concept a little foreign. I mean, really, what could possibly be the purpose of putting bubbles into a perfectly good piece of chocolate? But believe me, when you taste it you will understand just how good Bubble Chocolate can be.

Bubble or aerated chocolate is nothing new. Its been around in Europe for decades. Its only recently that it made its debut in the states. Its actually a pretty amazing product. While it contains the same amount of chocolate as a regular bar, the air bubbles make it seem much bigger and lighter. So you feel like you're getting more but you're not taking in any extra calories.  But the really amazing thing, is the actual sensation of eating it.  You pop a piece in your mouth, bite it, and than like magic the bubbles make the chocolate dissolve and your tongue is coated with rich, creamy deliciousness. You can actually feel the bubbles in your mouth. Its one of the coolest pieces of candy I have ever eaten. And yes, it still tastes just as good as any other chocolate. In fact, its better than some of the big brand names.

If you are interested in purchasing Bubble Chocolate, it is available in many retail stores including Wal-Mart & Target.  But if you having trouble finding it, it can also be purchased online. They even offer an auto-ship program. Shipping is a flat $4.95 and they use cool paks so you won't have to worry about it melting before it arrives.

I'm sure you would love to try Bubble Chocolate for yourself. Well, five lucky winners will each receive two Bubble Chocolate bars--one milk chocolate and one dark chocoalte.  To enter, please visit Bubble Chocolate and tell me something interesting that you learned. For additional entries you can follow them on twitter and/or become their fan on face book. These will be the only entries for this one. Giveaway is open to the US only and will end on 6/27/10.

***Please note that I received no form of monetary compensation for this post. I did receive a sample of the product to try in order to write a fair and honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own and were not influenced in any way. ***

I learned:

Per ounce Bubble Chocolate has the same caloric count as other non aerated chocolate bars. However, if one compares Bubble Chocolate to a traditional solid chocolate bar, Bubble Chocolate is inherently 1/3 larger because of its micro air bubbles inner core. As a result Bubble Chocolate has fewer calories per volume.

Infusing chocolate with bubbles enhances the mouth experience because the resulting structure causes chocolate to melt more rapidly across the tongue.

Bubble chocolate melts more quickly than solid chocolate bars, so you get a rapid burst of chocolate flavor when you eat it.

I learned that the dark chocolate has a generous 60% cacao. I totally miss Aero and Twirl bars from the UK, so it's good to hear that bubble chocolate has made it to the US.

"Creating Bubble Chocolate® is both an art and a science. Our proprietary procedure includes the following steps: first, infusing the bubbles throughout the chocolate at just the right time and temperature, followed by molding and cooling the chocolate so that the bubbly structure remains inside while a smooth outer shell is formed."
