 My Thoughts

The Bling brush from Brush Buddies is an awesome way to encourage little girls to brush!  My daughter got to try out the silver brush and she loved it. The head is just the right size for her mouth, and the bristles are soft and gentle against her gums. There's even a tongue scraper on the back. The sparkling gemstones never fall off and the brush is still very light weight and easy to manage.  There are over a thousand gems on every brush! That's a whole lot of sparkle. It's a wonderful way to make your daughter feel like a star and encourage her to brush her teeth.

Our Thoughts

I like the innovative design of The 360 Toothbrush and wanted to give it a shot for my 5yr old son.  Baby Buddy sent me the Step 2 to review.

My son has motor apraxia, so I'm still brushing his teeth for him, and expect to do so for quite some time yet.  It's easy enough to get the top/bottom of his teeth, but the sides are difficult with a traditional-shaped toothbrush.  He already has one adult tooth, and I worry about being able to keep his teeth in good shape.  Haha, if he has my teeth, he'll be lucky, but if he has his father's teeth . . . well, we'll try to keep them in as good of shape as we can for as long as we can. 

Now along with apraxia issues (speech too) he is on the Autism spectrum, which means simple changes can sometimes be difficult.  The last time I introduced a new toothbrush, it didn't go over well!  But when I showed him this cool new round toothbrush and how much fun it would be to brush his teeth, he took to it right away - thankfully, because *I* really like The 360 Toothbrush!  It was easier to brush the sides of his teeth, and he didn't fight me as much - he even giggled while I brushed his teeth!

I tried it both with and without toothpaste - while it took some extra effort to rinse the toothpaste out of the toothbrush afterward, it was easier to brush his teeth with it rather than without - the bristles glided along his teeth better.

When his hands eventually learn to assist him brush his own teeth (motor apraxia is wanting to, but not being able to repeat purposeful movements) The 360 Toothbrush will be much easier for him to clean all the surfaces of his teeth because it involves less wrist action.  I have to say I'm glad this toothbrush design exists and we will continue to use it!

My Thoughts

The Reach Complete Care Toothbrushes are definitely the next step up in dental hygiene. I felt the difference as soon as I put the brush in my mouth. The bristles are soft and gentle against your gums.Even with sensitive gums that normally bleed every time I brush, I had no issues when using these brushes. Yet, despite the gentle bristles, these brushes also produce a deep down clean. 

The thin bristles have different angles that allow the brush to get into even the tightest crevices, reducing plaque and leaving your smile shiny and bright. But the most important aspect is that the angle of the brush allows you to reach even the tough to reach spots in the back of your mouth.  You can be sure I won't be going back to the old brand after the results I've seen with this brush. Reach Complete Care is now the brush of choice for my family.

Our Thoughts
Since February is National Dental month, it's natural that we kick it off with a review of some toothbrushes and toothpastes! My kids have a hard time understanding just how long they're supposed to brush their teeth to get them clean. They also don't know how much toothpaste to use and almost always end up at least some toothpaste because it falls off the toothbrush. 

The FireFly Light-Up Toothbrush and Foam Toothpaste are perfect solutions for kids like mine! The toothbrush lights up and gives them a green light when they push the button as they start brushing their teeth. As the time ticks away it eventually moves to yellow to let them know they're almost done and turns red when they've brushed for the suggested amount of time. The lights make it so that the kids brush and don't stop to ask if they're almost done. It's actually made brushing fun for them! The toothbrushes come in most of their favorite characters!


The FireFly Foaming Toothpaste has been great too. It's made it so that there is less waste.The foam I can squirt directly into their mouths (or they can do it easily too) and start brushing immediately! The kids think that it's the neatest thing in the world right now and WANT to brush their teeth 2-3 times a day! Our Thoughts:
Jack N Jill sent me a sleepover bag, the "hippo" toothbrush, and two flavors of toothpaste: banana and blueberry.

I was thrilled to review Jack N Jill Natural Toothpaste because it is fluoride free, and safe to swallow.  Now, my son is special needs, so at age 4 I am still brushing his teeth for him.  And he doesn't spit it out, so it needs to be safe for him.  Here, locally, all the available children's toothpastes have fluoride in them, and I can only find "fluoride free" in adult toothpaste - which, for most of them, I don't feel are safe for my son to swallow.    Another plus, Jack N Jill Natural Toothpaste is also triclosan free!  In fact, they are BPA free, fluoride free, sugar free, color free, SLS free, and don't have any preservatives!  The flavors are certified organic, as is the calendula, for soothing gums.

I gotta say, just opening the toothpaste - they smell fantastic!  I didn't personally taste the banana, because while I love bananas, I've never liked "banana flavored" things, and I don't care for dehydrated bananas - but my son liked it!  I did taste the blueberry . . . and yeah, I could easily nibble on that, it really does taste good!  My son's non verbal, but going by his facial expression, I think he favored the blueberry the most, which is funny, because this kid LOVES his bananas, with blueberries being a close second.

I LOVE that the toothbrush is biodegradable!  It's cute, and small to fit in little hands.  While I loved this toothbrush, unfortunately my son did not.  It's not the fault of the toothbrush by any means - he has oral texture issues and prefers his old toothbrush.  He's open to new tastes, but new textures can take awhile for him to accept.

Now, the sleepover bag - that is so adorably cute!!!  I LOVE that!!  It's perfect for holding the toothbrush and toothpaste on overnight trips.  I like that it's cotton, if a wet toothbrush is hastily put away it has a much better chance of drying than in a plastic bag.  We'll definitely be using that on our cabin trips for our son!

This gets a definite thumbs up from me!  When we run out, I'll be ordering more!  Thanks, Jack N Jill, for introducing us to your natural toothpaste!!
