NO-AD Common Sense Suncare Review.

NO-AD Sun Care was introduced in 1962 with the concept of providing consumers with quality sun care products that are twice the size as national brands for the same price – all with “no TV ads”, no hype and no gimmicks. NO-AD has been protecting families for generations with great quality products at a great value.

NO-AD has received top marks from America's leading consumer review magazine. NO-AD has been picked four times, including in 2015, as a "Best Buy" for its exceptional value and once as a "Recommended" sunscreen for its superior protection.

NO-AD is making news again in 2016 by becoming the first mass sun care brand to go Paraben-Free and Retinyl Palmitate-Free! When it comes to value and common sense, NO-AD has no competition.

My Thoughts:

Hearing great reviews about NO-AD over the years, I was very excited to review the line! Usually when summer rolls around, I grab sunscreen infused makeup and whatever brand is on the sale display at the time. Having naturally pale skin that is prone to burning over tanning, having a solid sun care regime is constantly being talked about with me by my doctors.

With the hot and humid weather this season, having NO-AD by my side has been a wonderful feeling. I love the fact that it is a formula that is thick, but goes on smooth. I was so impressed by the size of the products. I had plenty to go around for my family when we were outdoors. Comparing the size and pricing along with other lines, NO-AD is ideal! The Paraben and Retinyl Palmitate free formulas are a relief, on top of the array of options available. No matter if you need a sports or kids line, NO-AD has you covered!

If you are looking for a sun protection product for any occasion, I would highly recommend NO-AD! You skin will thank you!

Belli Pure Radiance Facial Sunscreen

Belli Skincare’s Pure Radiance Facial Sunscreen offers mineral-based broad spectrum UVB and UVA protection, while hydrating the skin.   (All of its ingredients are safety screened and can even be used during pregnancy, but is perfect for anyone who cares about the quality and safety of the ingredients they put on their skin.)

My Thoughts

Belli Pure Radiance Facial Sunscreen is the perfect way to keep your skin healthy despite the elements.  The cream goes on smoothly and does not leave behind any sticky residues. It leaves your skin feeling firm and taunt, but still moisturized and soft. Because it has SPF included, you don't have to worry about greasy sunblocks when you are heading out to the park with the kids.  But the thing that makes this lotion different than the rest, is that they added a slight tint. When you apply the lotion, it adds just a hint of color without making you look made up.  Its the perfect way to keep that healthy glow all year long. Plus, it's an affordable skincare option.

The Belli Skincare line was originally designed for pregnant woman, but even those who aren't in the family way can see the benefits of this all-natural line. They are also cruelty free which is always a big plus in my book. Be sure to check all the great all-natural products on the Belli Skin Care website and connect with them via their social media.  You can also find their full line on Amazon

No One Wants Sand as a Souvenir – Introducing SunComfort Lotion from Banana Boat to Take the Mess out of Family Beach Day

As many moms know, a fun day at the beach can easily turn into an overwhelming and messy experience – between ocean water splashing in kids’ eyes, wind blowing away towels and sand blowing into your lunch.  But, savvy moms know if they are armed with the right tools, beach days can be hassle-free for everyone.

Say hello to Banana Boat’s newest innovation, SunComfort™ Lotion SunscreenAvailable in SPF 30 and 50+, SunComfort™ Lotion Sunscreen offers broad spectrum UVA / UVB protection and helps sand to easily brush off skin while moisturizing to relieve dryness, allowing for a comfortable experience in sun and sand.

Dr. Julie Karen, an NYC-based board certified dermatologist and mom of three busy kids can give you advice on her favorite mess-free beach essentials, such as sunscreen – but not just any sunscreen.  Imagine if sunscreen did more than just protect against harmful UV rays and could even eliminate those pesky grains of sand from sneaking into just about everything? Here are a few tips from Julie to help with solve that problem and many more
  1.          Apply 1 ounce (about 2 tablespoons) of broad spectrum UVA / UVB sunscreen with an SPF 30 or above, 30 minutes before going outside and reapply the same way every time, starting with the face and moving down to the toes.
  2. ·         Don’t forget to reapply sunscreen every two hours, or immediately after swimming, sweating or toweling off.
  3. ·         Cover up with long sleeves, a wide-brim hat and sunglasses. It’s especially important to cover sensitive areas, such as underneath the eyes, behind the ears, and tops of your feet which most people forget!

My Thoughts

I love always loved Banana Boat because it doesn't have a heavy chemical smell so like many other sunblocks and it doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky.  The SunComfort line is the best one I've tried so far.  Rubbing this onto your skin is a pleasure. It rubs in evenly, and feels more like lotion than sunblock. Your skin feels soft after using it and it doesn't leave behind any greasy residue.

The varieties I tried were SPF 50 and SPF 30, and these two formulas are perfect for the summer when we're at the beach. You can still get a little color without having to worry about getting burned. Even better, it's designed to keep the sand from sticking to your skin! I live a few blocks from the beach and spend a lot of time in the sand, so this is a feature I can really appreciate.  They are also water resistant for up to 80 minutes.  It's a great choice whether you're spending the day at the beach or taking a walk along the nature trail.

Sun Care Melanoma Awareness Week #thinkbaby #thinksport #melanomaawareness

Most folks don’t realize that daily use of sunscreen decreases skin aging by 24%. And while that is compelling, the stats around skin cancer are shocking. Skin cancer is the most prevalent form of cancer. In fact it outnumbers all other cancers combined. The good news is that it is also the most preventable. Avoiding sun exposure during peak hours of 10am to 4pm and wearing protective clothing are great ways to reduce risk. Use a sunscreen rated “1” by the Environmental Working Group.

If prevention is important to you, you should stock up on your sunscreen now. In honor of  Sun Care Melanoma Awareness Week , you can receive a $4 discount on purchase of 2 tubes of 3 oz Thinkbaby and Thinksport sunscreen!  Simply enter the code NewAgeMama16 at checkout!

Keep Your Baby's Skin Protected this Summer with CeraVe

Children's skin is extra sensitive, so you have to make sure you treat it right, especially in the summer months. CeraVe has everything you need to keep your children's skin soft and healthy. From moisturizers to sunscreen, you can feel secure taking your kids out in the sun with CeraVe.

I got to try the CeraVe Baby Sunscreen with SPF45 and there were lots of things I liked about these products. In addition to it being a more natural alternative, they aren't greasy or sticky when applied. I also like the scent. It was very light and doesn't smell like chemicals. It almost feels like you're applying regular lotion. It addition, it's water proof and sweat resistant. So we're good at the beach and at soccer games. But most importantly, it worked perfectly. There was not one speck of sunburn on me or my kids even after a full eight hours in the sun without reapplying.

The CeraVe Moisturizing Cream leaves baby's skin feeling rose-petal soft.  The baby lotion is gentle and safe for even a newborn's skins and can even be used by adults with sensitive skin issues.  It goes on smooth and has no greasy residue. It comes in a nice squeeze tube for easy access. It is made with a soothing  vitamin packed formula and it's unscented. It  works well enough that I could use it on my own skin with results that were just as impressive.

My Thoughts

I may not be pregnant, but I still know a good thing when I see it.  I always prefer using natural plant based products for my skin care regimen, and Nine Naturals has some that are pretty outstanding. I got to try a few of their products, and I was really impressed with the results.

Natural Sunscreen SPF 32-   There were lots of things I liked about this product. The sunscreen is not at all greasy or sticky when it's applied. There is no scent, so it doesn't smell like chemicals. It almost feels like you're applying regular lotion. Most importantly, it worked perfectly. There was not one speck of sunburn on me even after a full eight hours in the sun. Of course, I did reapply several times during the day.

Soothing Body Wash - This soothing body wash is gentle against your skin. The citrus and gerumian aroma is a great way to help you get started in the morning, and the light scent clings to your skin long after you've turned off the shower. It comes in a nice squeeze bottle for easy access and a little bit goes a long way. It leaves your skin soft and smooth to the touch, and there's never any greasy residue.

These products were just fantastic and a great choice for anyone who has sensitive skin or just enjoys all natural skincare, as well as those who are pregnant. If you'd like to learn more about Nine Naturals, and all the products in their line, be sure to visit Destination Maternity.
