Diono's RXT Convertible Car seat-- This seat is amazing, in so many ways. I love that you can fit three across most any back seat and not struggle to install each one. An well rounded car seat, you don't need to worry about buying more than one! Only if you enjoy the thought of taking baby in and out via a carrier. I am a huge fan of convertible car seats, and love the ease and comfortably of knowing money was spent well and will last.
If you're curious about how it comes in the box, there is a bit of "put together" that you need to do. Such as installing the base for rear facing, adjusting seat straps, as well as installing the infant padding (head and side panels). This is a bit daunting, to be honest. I struggled with this, only because it wasn't as "easy' as I would have thought. When you pay for quality and ease, I assumed most of these things would have been already done. Now, this isn't necessarily a bad thing either, all the infant padding come off easily so that when you're ready to turn it around and forward face it's done in a jiff.
The seat itself is super comfortable, and folds flat which is incredible! If you need to switch vehicles or even traveling on a plane, this feature is such a life saver. The downside is that the seat itself is pretty heavy. Diono has made an excellent seat that will last a life time if needed and I am thrilled to have received one for review. And honestly, the fact that this seat is so heavy is a downer for me. So many seats are heavy, and having the ease of switching vehicles quickly would have been such a great perk.
They allow LATCH system and seat belt for installation. When I tell you that install is a cinch, it really is. You dont' have to fuss around to try to figure out what's going wrong, and when you have children still in seats, the compactness of the RXT makes all of the negatives disappear instantly.
