Review: NueVue Leather iPhone Case - Antimicrobial Protection

NueVue® Launches Line of iPhone/iPad Protective Cases

That Clean Screen Each Time Device is Removed;

Offers Antimicrobial Protection to Keep Device/s Bacteria-Free

Studies show that the average smartphone is covered with more bacteria

than toilet seats, kitchen counters, and the bottom of shoes.

UK-based NueVue®just expanded distribution of its unique line of protective cases for smartphones and tablets in the USA. The patent-pending cases protect smartphones and tablets because they clean the screen every time you remove the device and offer antimicrobial protection.

Looking for a better way to clean and protect his iPhone, Inventor Derek Batey, CEO of NueVue®and high-tech entrepreneur wondered, “Why is it such a hassle to maintain a clean iPhone screen? Why couldn’t a case do more than just hold the device — like clean and protect it?”

Phones and germs have made headlines for years, as the connection has been established by numerous sources.

  • Recently, The New York Times reported on “cleaning the mobile germ warehouse,” in which an infectious disease specialist reported “that devices can be a source of disease transmission.”
  • FOX News reported a UK study that found “mobile phones 18 times dirtier than toilet handles.”
  • Today Health asked, “Is that staph on your sweater?  10 Germ Hideouts” and discussed cell phones, “The things you touch a zillion times a day-iPhone, BlackBerry, keyboard, computer mouse — are big carriers of germs, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and flu viruses.”

After extensive research and testing, Batey found a solution.  He discovered that a unique blend of microfibers and BioCote® antimicrobial technology would not only clean the screen quickly — with a simple sliding motion — but would eliminate microbes as well. The result: a line of cases with clear advantages. Smartphones and tablets with clean screens are easier to see, tend to scratch less and are more hygienic. What’s more, NueVue®’s anti-microbial protection eliminates up to 80% of microbes in 15 minutes and continues working to eliminate up to 99.9% of microbes within two hours.  At the same time, the phone or tablet stays secure and protected due to to the case’s anti-static and shock resistant capabilities.

“The advantages of having a clean screen on your phone and tablet are certainly well understood. But we wanted our cases to do more than just clean and protect. Studies show that the average smartphone is covered with more bacteria than toilet seats, kitchen counters and the bottom of shoes,” says Derek Batey, CEO of NueVue®. “The warm batteries make the perfect breeding ground for pathogens and viruses.  According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, people are just as likely to get sick from their mobile phones as they are from doorknobs in public bathrooms! A phone or tablet that’s free of microbes is an essential consideration for personal well being.”

NueVue products are handmade in the highest quality cotton twill, leather and canvas and come in a variety of stylish colors. More information is available on NueVue.com.

Our Thoughts
Phones get disgustingly dirty.  If you're like me and wear a little makeup, even that tiny little bit gets all over the phone with each phone call.  And now that I have a smart phone, I'm always touching it.  As both a parent and dog owner, I know my hands aren't always the cleanest.  And I'm probably covered in child boogers or dog drool by the end of the day!  And who knows what bugs and germs my child picks up at school!  Kids love to play with phones, too - even though I don't let my child play with my phone, many parents do.  NueVue sent me the pink iPhone leather case for review.

NueVue's iPhone cases are really cool - not only stylish but they clean the phone! They are also anti-static and shock resistant. I love the bright colors they offer - and you can get cotton twill, canvas, or leather (leather is for iPhones only).  I put my iPhone as far as it will fit into NueVue's case, then push it up from the bottom to get it started and pull it the rest of the way out from the top.  You need to apply slight pressure across the phone, so the case wipes the phone clean.  And it does come out CLEAN!  Much better than just swiping it across my jeans, which may or may not be any cleaner than the phone was to begin with!  If you wish for detailed instructions with picures on how to clean your device, NueVue has that too: A clean screen has never been easier!

You can use NueVue's cases as your only case - you'll need to remove your phone (and the case will clean it as you do so) every time you want to use it.  Or, you can do what I do: since I've often only got one free hand to work with, my phone stays out of the case until I feel it needs to be cleaned.  Pop it in, slide it out, and voila, a clean phone!  Fabulous invention!

Make sure to keep up with their Facebook page, too, they often do giveaways!

Snugg iPad 3 Case Review

**Product was received in exchange for an honest review**

Images are from www.thesnugg.com

I suppose we have an odd bunch of people working together at TheSnugg.com but this helps to cover our bases. We try and think of everything when it comes to our products because we want them to be the best they can be and because everyone thinks differently and has different ideas, this helps us pack all the best ideas into the products. We aim to bring only the very best products to our customers, and what we really love to do is bring products to our customers that they didn’t even know they needed!
We initially started selling on Amazon once we had the cases made and they were a hit straight away. The company saw rapid initial growth because of this and that’s how Snugg was born. We set up TheSnugg.com in early 2011 - and we now stock a wide range of all kinds of different Snugg products and other people’s and are expanding all the time.We initially started selling on Amazon once we had the cases made and they were a hit straight away. Snugg iPad2 Case Cover and Flip Stand that I reviewed.

TheSnugg.com is here to help bring quality products to market, whether it is our own Snugg products or others. When Snugg started, one of the first things that was said was ‘we don’t do cheap, we do quality’ and that remains the same now. All of the products we stock on the site we believe to be great products, in function and quality, and the only reason they get on the site is because we actually like them ourselves.

The Snugg brand was born early in 2010 with our very first iPad case. One of the directors got an iPad and just couldn’t find a case that he was really happy with... and we all knew people who were saying the same thing. After a discussion (and a few drinks) we decided we should produce a quality iPad case that people would love... and that's exactly what we did!

Our Thoughts

I received the Snugg iPad 3 Case Cover and Flip Stand in black leather. Now, I've had an iPad since the iPad 2 was launched and was using a brand name case that admittedly saved my iPad (almost completely except for a cracked screen and gouge out of a corner) when my husband left it on the back of the car. Need less to say he was going about 60 mph when the iPad flew off and he remembered he had left it on the trunk in front of the spoiler. But, since then I've only ever used two different cases for my iPads. I thought that reviewing a new case was going to be a bit of a challenge just because I don't like to change things if they're already working for me.

The Snugg case came and I put it on my iPad immediately. The first thing I noticed was that it was not too tight of a fit where I'd have to struggle to slid my iPad into the case. This is really nice because anyone that has tried to slide their phone or iPad into a case knows that it's just a pain if the fit is too tight. The next thing that stood out to me was the flap that velcros behind the iPad. If you have kids that like to play on the iPad like I do, you understand that the flap is necessary so the device isn't found flying across the living room as the children are playing tug of war with the case because they each think that it's their turn with the iPad. (It's ok, you can go ahead and laugh at the image that you conjured up with that!)

The Snugg case all around is good quality, leather (which I love the smell of!), and fits really well. I like the flip stand but would like to see maybe two hight settings instead of one. I'd also like to see the leather rim around the front of the iPad to be a bit thinner just because for me the thickness of the rim messed up my spacebar usage a bit. I highly recommend the Snugg cases as they're good quality and a decent price.

Casemodo Tablet Cover

About the Company/Product:

Tablets and iPads are 21st-century technology. Why disguise it with an old-fashioned tablet cover? Casemodo is a 100% customizable tablet case you can either design for yourself or choose from dozens of custom designs. The brainchild of PHDBookbinding.com, the leading online bindery for library quality hard cover binding and personal academic publishing, every Casemodo case meets the exacting quality standards honed from years of serving America’s leading academic libraries. The result is the re-definition of the iPad or tablet case.
With a unique ordering system, customers can pick out a variety of colors, patterns or backgrounds for the exterior and interior, add text, logos or initials embossed or printed, choose coordinating protective metal corners, even add jewelry or ornaments to it. Are you interested in complementing that outfit or accessory? A Casemodo case will do just that.
Casemodo cases are available in canvas, faux leather or genuine leather. Resin coating for the canvas designs offers water resistance and protection from staining or fading. While offering the widest possible range of personalization in the industry, Casemodo cases are also of the highest possible quality. Each case features a magnet lock for the cover and a device compartment that matches the cover design.

You can visit Casemodo at their website: http://casemodo.com/
Or on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Casemodo?ref=ts&fref=ts

Our Thoughts:
I love all of the aspects of this case! It's unique, stylish and you can choose your own! The quality of the product is great! The magnet lock to keep it closed is strong! It's light and versatile.

One of the features is the jewelry/bling. This is one of the things I didn't really care for. If it were to get caught it could rip what it's caught on, or be torn from the case. The upside to this however, is that you can use the jewelry to hold your case open if you flip it the other way!
The metal corners and camera hole are genious! The metal corners prevent them from getting snagged and tearing up too quickly, and the camera hole is a fantastic touch for ease sake.

If you don't mind paying close to $100 for a case, this is the way to go! You can design your case from start to finish. With the jewelry, metal corners, and camera hole all being extras.

I give this case a 3 out of 5 stars, the reason being for me, the jewelry on the front and the price.

Our Thoughts
The iPad case that I reviewed was a nice product. The presentation and packaging were pleasing and easy to open without ruining. The construction appears to be able to stand up well enough that it could last the life of the iPad if you're going to be replacing it every couple years. The iPad was easy to insert and secure; I was not worried about the iPad falling out. I was not too impressed with the add-on panel as there were a few times where it came loose while I was handling my iPad due to the strength of the magnetic snaps but it was a plus that I could, if I wanted, change the panel out easily when the whim hit me.
The note pad that is included is a nice addition. I'm not sure if you could easily replace the pad with a generic one but I hope that option was something that the designers considered when they added the pad. The pen that comes with the case was a great addition as it didn't leave me searching for something to write with when needed. It was also a very nice surprise to see that the one end of the pen had a rubber tip so I could use it as a stylus type device with the iPad. There were some problems with dragging the stylus end of the pen across the iPad as it would stick every so often. A less rubbery tip would have worked better in this case. I did not like, however, that the pen top was not able to sit on the pen like it should've. If you're like me, the kids have you going in a million different directions and it's just a hassle for me if I can't stick the top on the pen while it's open because I end up loosing it.
Over all I liked the case as it was a great product but it ended up being a little too thick for my tastes as the iPad in the PlusMotif case it just took up too much room in my purse. If you don't have a purse or you have a diaper bag, the case would work well!
