Fertility Outreach - Arming Patients with Emotional Support & Customized Resources

Becoming a parent is  an exciting journey, but infertility is a struggle many couples face when they're trying to conceive. Couples coping with infertility deal with many challenges including depression and anxiety. Because of the psychological impact infertility poses, it's important that couples have access to credible information and emotional support to help them on their path to parenthood.

To complement the support provided by family and healthcare providers, Fertility Out Loud has created a new text-based platform called Fertility Outreach. This platform connects aspiring parents with customized information and guidance from a fertility coach. Recently, New Age Mama had the opportunity to interview one of the coaches and ask their advice on the challenges of infertility. Check out the interview below:

Just to give you a little recap, this video covers important topics including what a fertility coach does and how they can help you. Coach Connie explains how they are here to help aspiring parents throughout their journey through parenthood. They go on to explain how Fertility Outreach provides support through text messaging. Using this platform gives aspiring parents access to experts in a convenient way that works with their hectic schedules. We then go on to speak with Christina who shares some of her personal battles with fertility and who worked on-one-one with Connie. Be sure to watch the full video to learn more about the types of support available through Fertility Outreach.

Prepping for Pregnancy - Helpful Hints for Him & Her #PreppingforPregnancy

My grandmother was married to her first husband for twenty years, but they never had any children. He finally left her because he believed she was infertile. He went on to marry a much younger woman, and guess what? Still no kids for him. My grandmother, however, conceived on her honeymoon with my grandfather. She went on to have three children in her forties. The fertility issues obviously didn't lie with her.

Even today, when it comes to fertility, both couples and medical professionals tend to look at the woman first when they are trying to conceive. But it takes two to tango, and both partners need to put in a little effort when it's time to start a family. We all know woman should start taking vitamins before conception, but men can take supplements to increase their chances as well, and ProXeed is a great choice. I don't want to call myself an expert, but after giving birth to four children, I have learned a thing or two. Here are a few tips that might help you on your conception journey.
1) Folic Acid - Women should start taking folic acid before they are ready to conceive. The supplement helps with cell division which will aid in a successful conception.

2) Use an Ovulation Calender - These can be found online, and they are a great tool. Type in the date of the woman's last period, and it will provide the dates she should be ovulating. Some even give you pointers on which dates you are more likely to conceive a boy or a girl.

3) Know Your Body - If you're not regular, you don't need to rely on calenders. Get to know your body. For women, there will be signs when you're fertile, including increased sex drive and discharge. We are animals, after all. It's our natural instinct to crave reproduction. Listen to your body and you'll know when the time is right.

4) Eat Healthy & Exercise - This tip applies to both men and women. Eating a balanced diet and taking care of yourself is important before, during, and after conception. Make sure you eat from all food groups and get in some exercise, even if it's just a nice walk together. You can't expect your sperm and eggs to be healthy if you aren't.

5) Don't Smoke or Drink - We all know that pregnant women should avoid these things, but for men trying to conceive, smoking and drinking can greatly reduce your sperm count and make it much harder to conceive.

6) Try ProXeed Plus - This clinical proven supplement gives extra support to male reproductive health and sperm quality. Just add a packet to your water. It has a great lime taste and you don't even need a prescription. Learn more by checking out their video series on You Tube. This series features advice from Reproductive Endocrinologist & Fertility expert, Dr. Michael Heard.

7) Keep it Fun - Sex is supposed to be enjoyable for both of you. During the act, try not to think too much about the outcome and just enjoy yourselves! Remember that stress reduces the likelihood of conception.

Those are all the tips I have for your today, but I encourage you to do your own research. You can start by visiting the ProXeed website to learn a little more about this amazing supplement. You can e even get started together by placing an order online. Remember, even though people tend to focus on the woman when they talk pregnancy, the daddy plays a big part too! If you have any tips to share, I'd love to hear about them! You both need to do your part for your family, from conception and beyond.
