Zak's New Toddlerific Line Review and Giveaway!

Since 1976, Zak Designs has been committed to making mealtime fun for people around the world. Whether it's through dinnerware and on-the-go products that feature children's favorite characters or tableware and kitchen prep products that represent the latest global fashion statements, Zak gives people the mealtime products that fit their appetites.

Every parent knows that teaching toddlers how to feed themselves can sometimes be a trying – and messy – proposition. With Zak’s new ToddlerificTM line, it no longer has to be. Featuring a complete assortment of mealtime products that are all created meet the unique needs of toddlers – from durable plates and bowls with high sides and wide bases, to arched flatware and innovative insulated cups that adapt to growing thirsts – the Toddlerific line is designed to make mealtime fun for toddlers and easier for parents.

The new line from Zak Designs features a complete assortment of products that were designed specifically to meet the needs of toddlers. The line includes a spoon and fork with thick grips and large arches to make them easy for little hands to hold onto, a wide-based bowl to help prevent it from tipping and a sectioned plate with high sides and contours that match the spoon and fork to make it easier to get food onto the utensils. The line also includes two different cups to meet the unique needs of different ages. The Spout Cup has a pronounced drinking spout to make it easier for toddlers who are 9+ months to transition from a bottle to a cup, while the Sip Cup has a low-profile lid that will help toddlers who are 18 months and older to work toward transitioning to a regular cup. Both of the cups are sized for small hands and feature double-wall insulation to help keep beverages cold while also preventing condensation from building up on the outside of the cup. They also both include a valve that allows parents to easily adjust the flow rate to better meet their child's drinking preference.

Our Thoughts

I love all the pieces in this Zak's line. The colors are bright, which makes it appealing to the eye (I am someone who likes even kitchen items to look appealing). The bright colors make it interesting for babies too I think. The monkeys on them are cute and the pink Owl set is adorable too! The plate and bowl don't both fit on my high chair at the same time, but my son likes a lot of variety when it comes to food which is why I like to use it all. Most babies only eat 2-3 different things at one time so I don't see that being a "problem". The spoon and fork are very easy for my son to hold onto. He just turned 8 months old so they're perfect for his little hands.

The bowl can be tipped over, as with any bowl, but the wide base definitely helps it happen much less than regular bowls. It's harder for him to pick up and try to toss it around, which definitely helps, especially if there is food in it.

The depth of the tray is nice, he doesn't mix his food up too much because of it, it keeps it pretty separated, and as he gets older I see it only continuing to be beneficial.

My favorite thing about this line is the cup. He's just learning how to drink along with his nursing, and the cup keeps it fun for him. He does chew on the spout, but what baby doesn't chew on everything? The fact it's double insulated is awesome, it doesn't get his hands cold and it doesn't get all icky wet on the outside from condensation, a major pet peeve.

One lucky winner is going to receive one set of the Owl or Monkey set and choice of the Spout Cup or Sip Cup. To enter, just fill in the Giveaway Tools form below. This giveaway will end on 04/02/15. Open to the Continental US only (not Alaska or Hawaii). The winner will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to the sponsor for offering this fantastic prize.

Polmedia Polish Pottery Review

Polish Pottery is beautiful and durable stoneware that is made by hand in Boleslawiec in the South-West region of Poland. Stoneware is a type of clay that is fired and matured in extremely high temperature exceeding 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. In essence it is a man-made stone that is impermeable and hard enough to resist scratching by a steel point. This hand painted stoneware became known throughout the world simply as Polish pottery.

There are several factories in Boleslawiec that manufacture Polish pottery. The highest quality Polish pottery is made by Ceramika Artystyczna. Their craftsmanship has been internationally recognized year after year. They employ the most talented artists in the region who hand-paint each piece of Polish pottery using brushes and sponges from the Baltic Sea. Another large manufacturer is Zaklady Ceramiczne. The smaller ones include Manufaktura, Wiza, Millenium, WR, Dana, Andy, Cerfar, Cergor and many more.

Polish pottery found on www.polmedia.com is safe to use in the microwave, oven, dishwasher and freezer. All Polish pottery that we sell is lead and cadmium free. We only import the highest quality Polish pottery, also known as Quality 1.

Our Thoughts

This company has some very unique products as shown above. Of course my love of coffee forced me to choose a mug and how adorable it is too!
Beautifully crafted, extremely soft and keeps my coffee the perfect temperature! Then handle fits my little fingers perfectly and the cup itself isn't too hot with my beverage. Also great for you milk drinkers too or whatever else you want to put in there. There are not any blemishes on my mug that I received. The colors are vibrant and I love that the designs depict the Polish culture/style. Each piece is unique and suited to your taste. Our Thoughts
I love to cook, and when I use pepper, I refuse to use anything but fresh-ground pepper. Store-bought ready-ground is just so . . . stale. There's nothing quite like the aroma of fresh ground pepper! I've been using one of those little coffee/herb grinders to grind a small amount of peppercorns as needed, then transferring the pepper to a container for use.  I've been on the lookout for a pepper grinder that meets my needs.
Awhile ago, my mom gifted me some sea salt in coarse grain form.  The salt crystals are a little too big to use directly on food where just a little bit is required, and my coffee/herb grinder would grind it too fine for my liking.  It's just been sitting there, waiting to be used.  One of my best friends has a salt grinder, and I've been on the lookout for one of those too! There are some dishes that having coarse ground sea salt adds just the right touch.
The Ozeri Duo Ultra Salt & Pepper Grinder definitely meets my needs!  I like that I can have both salt and pepper in ONE grinder, eliminating the need for two separate grinders.  I can grind just salt, just pepper, or both of them together at the same time.  The instructions are very helpful in how to fill and use the grinder.  It's also very durable, which is always a plus in my kitchen!  Stylish, too.  The only thing I don't like about it is the way the bottom is designed.  The way the plastic is, it creates a little lip all around the inside and that seems to be where a lot of the freshly ground salt/pepper lands, rather than out on the food, so after you're done grinding, you may want to shake it a bit to get the hidden particles out.
