Lolleez Organic Throat Soothing Lollipops Review.

When it came to sore throats, mom of four and health coach, Melissa Evans couldn’t find anything to “eez” her kids’ throats or her mind. Thus, the idea for Lolleez was born. Lolleez are organic, worry-free, throat soothing lollipops for kids, that offer a simple solution to a simple problem.

What makes Lolleez different?

  • First, it’s the ingredients – Lolleez are made from USDA Certified Organic ingredients and ingredients you can pronounce and understand, like natural fruit pectin and organic honey. They are also Non-GMO as well as gluten, dairy and nut free.
  • Second, it’s the worry-free shape – Lolleez are flat and on a stick versus a round ball, which is a potential choking hazard.
  • Lastly, it’s the flavors – Lolleez comes in three delicious kid (and adult) friendly flavors: Watermelon, Strawberry and Orange Mango. After surveying hundreds of kids, Lolleez™ founders determined that traditional flavors like cherry and grape have a negative association that is tied to medicines.
  •

“Few ailments cause overall unhappiness to both kids and parents like a sore throat. Whether it’s allergies, a cough or a cold, a sore throat is painful. Every time you swallow, it’s there and it hurts,” said Melissa Evans, Lolleez Founder. “There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer, so I’m really excited to be able to offer an organic and worry-free throat remedy that can help soothe both physical (child) and emotional (parent) pain, with the launch of Lolleez.

Lolleez will be available at Target stores nationwide this month and just in time for allergy season!  Lolleez come in packs of 15 pops: Watermelon, Strawberry, Orange Mango and a Variety Pack for a suggested retail price of $6.99.

My Thoughts:

When I heard of Lolleez I was thrilled! My family and I have horrible allergies. Sore throats are a constant in our household, especially during allergy season. Although I enjoy throat lozenges, the aspect of choking has always been a concern for me, especially for younger generations. I try to have organic products around already, so this product was perfect!

Not only are the flavors of Lolleez fantastic, they truly work! It was impressive to see the size of the product and how sturdy they were. I was sent the variety pack and each was delicious and worked quickly! You would never know that these sweet treats were helping until you suddenly become aware of the relief. I noticed my throat soothed in about three to five minutes. The relief lasted long too! A lot longer than the traditional throat lozenges.

The only suggestion I do have for users is to watch the edges as it melts down in your mouth. I noticed that a couple of my pops got little rough spots that are a bit sharp. However, if you bite that area off, it'll be solved. The Lolleez still stayed put even after that.

I would highly recommend Lolleez to adults, children, and families alike! These are groundbreaking products for anyone that experiences sore throats.

If you try Lolleez, feel free to post your results on social media using the hashtag:

Back to School, Back to Sick?

With the school year in full swing, one of the biggest questions we always get is how to combat illnesses in schools – especially with the school year restarting recently. And I’m sure New Age Mama readers have similar questions. So when Kleenex® brand conducted a study around kids and illness, we immediately thought to send it your way!

As the weather gets cooler, that means cold and flu season is just around the corner. Kids – and their parents – are heavily impacted, particularly in the beginning months of school. According to over 500 parents and caregivers:

Get ready for back to school germs:
  • 97% said their child will get sick at some point during the school year with winter, changing seasons, and the beginning of the year the prime sick times.
    • One in four parents (26%) say their child is most likely to get a cold/flu at the beginning of the school year while two in three (65%) say is it likely during the winter months at school.
  • Three-quarters (77%) of parents agree that they’ve gotten a cold or the flu after their kid brought it home from school.
  • Most parents (89%) say their child has contracted a cold from school followed up by three in five parents (59%) saying their child has contracted the flu from school.

No matter what, these superstar parents are prepared:
  • 91% say they keep tissues in their house should their kid get sick.
    • Kleenex® Cool Touch is ready to save the day the next time sickness hits. Cooling on contact, this tissue not only soothes a sore nose and prevents redness, but it provides a bit of excitement for kids right out of the box. They’ll definitely want to use these again!

A New Way to Cure "Bad Eye Days"- FreezeFrames® Cool Eye Wear Review.

New therapeutic treatment for 'Bad Eye Days' comes in FreezeFrames® Cool Eye Wear ($89.95). They provide soothing relief to puffy tired eyes through a never-before-seen unisex sunglass line. The first conceptualized as a dual-purpose device for both 100% UVA-UVB protection and cooling eye therapy.

Resuable Gel-Pads magnetically click into place within the FreezeFrames® casing, and are anatomically engineered to discretely target zone-specific problematic eye areas unlike any other eye care product on the market today.

"Applying ice is easy to do most anywhere on the body except for the one area we need it the most, the eye area,” says LA-based specialty nurse Alison Read who invented FreezeFrames®. Alison works in a specialized surgical role as a Registered Nurse First-Assist (RNFA) alongside some of Beverly Hill’s top surgeons.

Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon, Dr. A. Stone, recommends using FreezeFrames® before and after treatments, claiming "Other devices can’t effectively reach the recessed tissues, structures and nerves around the eye that trigger inflammation and pain. But FreezeFrames® do."

Up until now, the only solution for ‘bad eye’ days left you trapped under messy ice packs and dripping compresses, keeping swollen eye sufferers indoors, immobile, out of sight, feeling unattractive and unable to do anything else.

FreezeFrames® naturally, conveniently and discretely solved Alison's own puffy eye problem and is now available to ‘nurse’ yours. Her patented Gel-Pad attachments soothe ‘the puffy and tired’ with gentle cooling compression customary of how a ’nurse’ might apply ice to swollen, symptomatic eyes areas.

Wear after a spa or medical treatment to decrease pain and bruising while also increasing the healing. Use to soothe allergic puffiness, PMS inflammation, computer dry eye strain, or revitalize after a long flight. Helpful also in relieving headache and migraine symptoms. End result: look and feel 'cool' while on-the-go!

Patented New Spa Treatment for 'Bad Eye' Days.

Created by a Nurse to 'Nurse' Puffy Tired Eyes.

FDA Approved and Recommended by Plastic Surgeons.

Available exclusively online at www.FreezeFrames.com with more styles and colors to debut.

My Thoughts:

FreezeFrames is an innovative way to help your eyes and pressure points naturally. As a lifelong allergy suffer, I am constantly dealing with sinus pressure and pain above and below my eyes. It causes me headaches often. I also have occasional puffiness as well. I was so excited to give FreezeFrames a try.

Once they arrived, I placed the glasses on and they fit perfectly alone and with the attachable magnetic gel pads. The frames are lightweight, a great design suitable for men or women, and I can see perfectly through them just as I could through a traditional pair of sunglasses.

Once placed in the freezer, the gel pads freeze quickly. They are comfy on and lasted a good fifteen to twenty minutes depending on how long you allow them to sit in the freezer. I kept them in for around a half hour, but you can go up to an hour if desired. There are magnets all over the Freezeframes from the back of the lenses to the actual sides of the frames to use cold therapy on your temples, not just your eye area. Although they are designed primarily for cold therapy, the gel pads can be heated by placing the attachments in warm water (avoid boiling water or the microwave). I have never seen or used anything quite like Freezeframes before!

I found that the Freezeframes worked quite well. The recommend maximum usage is twenty minute intervals with a break in between each one. You can use them daily and as often as you like as long as you take a rest period after treatment. They certainly helped my inflammation as well as soothed my sinus pressure. It was very relaxing to lay back with these on or continue my daily activities. They can be worn outside, but it is best to not drive using them. The frames are also latex free, 100% UVA and UVB sunblock protected, and the gel pad contents are non-toxic. I would highly recommend these for anyone looking for a natural way to relieve pressure and eye concerns in a safe way!

My Thoughts
This arrived at the right time. My husband and son have been super sick with something nasty. As the woman of the house, I've been taking care of them. A few days before their colds hit, I got Culterelle Advanced Immune Defense to try out. Little did I know how perfect the timing would be.

I started to take it right before they both got sick. The bottle I got came with a 10 day supply. I took this the whole time they were sick and caring for them. I think only one day I felt slightly week, but for the most part, I've felt great. No sickness and I am past the incubation period of whatever they were spreading.

I do believe that this helped because the two of them were very sick. On to of this being a probiotic to help keep my gut flowing, it was also packed with zinc and vitamin C. Both which help fight off colds.

This is a product I was very happy with. As far as a probiotic, I felt like it did it's job. It kept things moving and my bowels regular. I would use this again for sure.

AlternaVites Vitamin C For Cold & Flu Season

Cold and flu season is coming and I thought you might be interested in this new product – great for kids during this sniffly time of year!

This new Vitamin C product from alternaVites literally melts in your mouth! No worrying about having a glass of water with you, trying to get your little one to swallow a pill or chew up an unpleasantly chalky one. This great Vitamin C option for kids can be poured directly on the tongue and taken without water. The delicious powder with an Orange Berry Blast flavor can also be easily mixed into yogurt, pudding or smoothies.

Using a proprietary blend of ingredients, alternaVites are free of sugar, aspartame or high fructose syrup, artificial flavors and preservatives.  It has also been carefully formulated with ingredients that do not contain the major food allergens.

My Thoughts

One of my daughter's is a real handful when it comes to vitamins. She doesn't like the hard chewable kind. She can't have the gummies because she has fillings, and the prescription the doctor said I could drop  in her juice...forget it. She tosses the juice every time I try it. When I heard about alternaVites Kids, they seemed like the perfect solution so I was excited to give them a try.

alternaVites Kids come in little packets that have a fine powder. They can be flicked a little at a time on the tongue or mixed with yogurt or drinks.  My children all gave the vitamins a try and opinions varied. My ten-year-old loves in and likens them to that sugary candy that comes in the straws. My oldest wasn't as easily impressed. She said it was okay, but she prefers her regular chewable vitamins.  The two youngest kids didn't like the powdered form on their tongues at all, but when mixed with their yogurt, they didn't notice it. So my problem about getting vitamins for my finicky child is solved, I just have to take the extra step to make sure the vitamins are well-blended with the food so she doesn't notice.

The widely varied opinions of my kids made me curious, so  I decided to give the packets a try myself, just to see how they tasted. We received the strawberry bubble gum and the Orange Berry Blast Vitamin C. To me, they had a bit of an artificial sweetener taste, but they weren't bad. If you are having trouble getting kids to take their vitamins, alternaVites are definitely worth a chance. This is one of those cases where you just won't know if its for you until you try it because it's a matter of personal taste.

DIY Tips for Home Cold Remedies from Cold Eeze

When it comes to dealing with a cold, tempers and temperatures can reach a fever pitch (pun intended) fast! Your throat feels scratchy, your nose won't stop running and all you want to do is sleep! To help bring your symptoms down to a manageable level, the staff at Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy put together some great do-it-yourself tips for home cold remedies. Be sure to try the new Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy Plus Natural Multi-Symptom Relief Cold & Flu QuickMelts, formulated with zinc gluconate to shorten the duration of the cold by nearly half!

 Do-It-Yourself Home Cold Remedies
Brought to you by: Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy

  1. Stuffy nose? Use steam for relief.
You don’t need a fancy humidifier to ease congestion (though it can be convenient!). Slowly breathing in steam from a pot of boiling water can work wonders! Just make sure to be very careful — you don’t want to burn your nose!
  2. Make it spicy.
Incorporate lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, rosemary, cloves, pepper and ginger into your sick-day diet. Spices are natural ways to help boost your immune system and fight off viruses and diseases. Some other ingredients to include? Garlic, honey and coconut oil. Check out some more natural cold medicine.
  3. Try chicken noodle soup.
A nice hot bowl of chicken noodle soup might be just what you need to fight off that virus. It’s a delicious home remedy that’s medically backed to help ease cold symptoms. Check out some of our Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy-approved tasty recipes by visiting us on Pinterest, and make sure to include plenty of veggies!
  4. Make your own nasal spray.
It’s easy and takes a matter of minutes! Simply mix 3 teaspoons of iodide-free salt and 1 teaspoon of baking soda and then add 1 teaspoon of the mixture to 8 ounces of warm boiled water to create your own nasal spray solution. Use a bulb syringe to gently squirt the mixture into each of your nostrils, while holding the other one closed, and letting them drain. This will help clear nasal congestion as well as remove virus particles and bacteria!
  5. And of course, drink plenty of fluids.
It’s so important to stay hydrated, especially when you’re sick. By drinking plenty of fluids regularly, you can help break up congestion and ease a sore throat. Some great options include water, herbal teas, natural juices (no sugar!) and ginger ale. Also be sure to check out some of our favorite healthy hydration recipes.

My Thoughts:

I received a few samples of Cold-Eeze to try out including the spray and it arrived just in time because I was catching a cold from the kids. This is a unique form of homeopathic  medicine. As soon as you feel a cold coming on, just spray a few squirts around the inside of your mouth and you feel it working instantly. It relieves sore and scratchy throats and really does shorten a cold. For me the bug only lasted a few days, but my husband has had it over a week because he didn't want to give Cold-Eeze a try. It even tastes pretty good, as far as medicine goes.

If you don't like the idea of the spray formula, the Cold-Eeeze Immune Support is a great product to try out. They have a tasty citrus flavor that goes down pretty easy and actually melt in your mouth. No big pills to swallow. They fight your symptoms and shorten your symptoms by several day. For colds that make it hard to sleep, the Daytime/Nighttime formula offers two different doses. One that will help you sleep without being habit forming and one that won't slow you down during the day. Last but not least, their strawberry and cream flavored Lozenges are the tastiest medicine I ever tried. My teenagers wanted to eat them like candy!  But the thing I like the best about Cold-Eeze is that their products are homeopathic. I don't feel like I'm putting poison in my body when I use them, so they make me feel better in more ways than one.

Interview with Dr. Tanya Altmann & Braun No Touch & Forehead Thermometer #Giveaway

Do you know the difference between a cold and the flu? Or the best ways to keep sickness from spreading once a family member becomes ill? Pediatrician and mom Dr. Tanya Altmann  has tips to help prevent sickness this winter and even on what families should have in the medicine cabinet to help treat and relieve symptoms once they strike. Here are a few questions that Dr. Atlmann answered for our interview.

What exactly is a fever?

The American Academy of Pediatrics states that a temperature reading of 100.4 degrees F or higher is generally considered a fever. This can still leave room for questions among parents, so I recommend my patients use thermometers with a temperature guidance system to help them better understand and diagnose a fever. The new Braun No touch + forehead thermometer has a color coded temperature guidance to help you understand the severity of your child’s fever. Depending on the reading, the color of the thermometer’s display will change to green, yellow or red. As a rule of thumb, any infant under 3 months of age with any temperature reading of 100.4 or higher should be evaluated by a medical professional.

How should a parent manage their child’s temperature once they have come down with one?

When it comes to fevers, I’m often more concerned with the length of the fever than the severity of the temperature. I recommend parents take their child to the pediatrician if a fever lasts more than 3-4 days, the child looks very ill, is unusually lethargic, or has severe aches and pain as it could be a sign of something more serious than a common cold. This excludes newborns and infants; you should always consult your doctor immediately when dealing with a newborn or infant with a fever.

How does a No Touch thermometer measure temperature?

No touch thermometers measure energy radiated from the forehead above the temporal artery, a major artery of the head. The new Braun No touch + forehead thermometer captures twice as much of this energy to ensure you’re getting an accurate reading. Plus, you can also use the traditional touch option on the thermometer to double check your reading if you’re having doubts. I recommend it for parents who are looking to switch to a no touch thermometer but still have some reservations.

What is the difference between having a cold and having the flu?

Patients often come into the office saying they have the flu when really they just have a cold. The symptoms between a cold and flu are different and it’s important to recognize them so you can treat your illness effectively. The flu is much more severe than a cold and it tends to come on more quickly.  Cold symptoms are sore throat, runny nose, congestion, sneezing and coughing, while the flu usually produces high fever, chills, headaches, body aches and severe fatigue. If you think you or your child has the flu, call your pediatrician.

What is your most suggested prevention method for keeping out the flu?

I swear by some tried and true methods of prevention during cold & flu season. One that tops the list is washing hands. Parents should have their kids wash their hands every time they enter or leave the house and before any meal. Germs are everywhere and children will touch anything. Secondly, make sure everyone is getting enough sleep to help keep their immune system strong.

My Thoughts

As a mom of four children between two and thirteen, I think I've tried every type of thermometer there is. The Braun No Touch & Forehead Thermometer is by far my top choice, especially when dealing with toddlers or babies. All moms know it's next to impossible to get little ones to sit still long enough for us to hold a thermometer in their mouth or under their arm. I used to use the type that you place in their ear, but I found those were very inaccurate and painful for my son who often had ear infections. One time I almost ran to the emergency room because it told me my child had a 106 fever, but when I tried it again, it was only 99 degrees. Wild results like that were the norm with this type of unit.

The  No Touch & Forehead Thermometer is simple to use and very accurate. You simply hold it against their forehead or just above it. There is so discomfort, so there is no squirming. You can even use it while your child is sleeping without disturbing them. There are no annoying little plastic covers required and it works just as well on older children and adults as it does on babies.  The temperature is displayed on a large glowing screen that is easy to read, even in the dark, and comes up in different colors depending on the severity of the fever.   It runs using two AA batteries, and these are included in the package.  It provides quick and accurate results every time, and I'm very happy with it.

Breathe Easy with Kokokahn Essential Oils - #Giveaway

Winter has hit full force here in South Jersey, bringing cold and flu season on top of harsh weather. My kids have been sick almost non-stop since they went back to school. Nothing major, but coughs and stuffy noses have been a constant affliction. Being a New Age Mama, I always try homeopathic remedies before going the traditional route. Most of the time, it works well for us. Essential Oils are one of my favorite home remedies, and there are some really unique varieties available at Kokokahn to help you get through the winter blahs.

I got to try out the Breathe Inhaler Kit, and it has definitely made a difference for everyone in my family. I normally use straight Eucalyptus for colds. This blend includes a mixture of Eucalyptus with Lavender, Rosemary, Peppermint, and Spruce, and it was even more effective. The result is a divine, relaxing scent that will have you breathing easier and truly enjoying the aroma. For my kids, I just add a few drops to their humidifier or use an oil diffuser. Within seconds, the whole room is filled with scent.  When they have a cold, they are able to get a better night's sleep and they feel a lot less stuffy.

The inhaler I kept for myself, and I just love it. I often wake up in the middle of the night feeling congested when the heat is running. One whiff of this, and my nasal passages are clear. I'm sure it will also be a godsend as soon as allergy season rolls around. Even when I'm not stuffy, this blend has all my favorite oils in it, and I like to take a whiff just to help relax and unwind.  This is definitely an awesome product. My kids always fight me with saline, but never with oils, and it's certainly better than pumping them full of drugs. (Of course, this is just my opinion and you should consult a doctor if you or your children are ill.)

The Breathe Inhaler Kit is only one of amazing, all-natural products available at Kokokahn, including every variety of essential oil you can imagine. Here are a few more items on my wish list.

Bali Spa Gift Set

White Porcelain Essential Oil Diffuser with Flowers
Pet Aromatherapy Gift Set

If you'd like to learn more about Kokokahn and all the oils they offer, be sure to visit their website. Shipping is free on all orders over $100, so it's a great time to stock up! To keep up with new products and promotions, follow them on their social media.
