My Thoughts

In  Trolls World Tour, Poppy and her friends learn there are other types of trolls in the world. Once they all lived in harmony, but eventually fights over who was best drove them apart. The trolls were divided into several different realms: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop, and Rock.  The queen of the Rock Realm has decided she wants to take over all of trolldom and sets out to steal the magic strings from each of the realms. When Poppy learns of her plan, she thinks she can bring all the realms together.  However, this isn't as easy as she hopes as each group thinks their music is the best. Meanwhile, Branch struggles with revealing his true feelings. Poppy must find a way to unite the realms and find love.

Like the original troll movie, this was a fun adventure filled with great music and bright colors. It addition to being a fun family film, it teaches children the value of accepting others who are different, but not trying to change them. My Thoughts

In Downtown Abbey the movie, is a extended version of the television show that features lots of holiday fun. In the film, the Crawleys prepare for a visit from the king and queen. There is lots of romance including a same-sex couple that defy the rules of the times in the best of ways. Of course, they find themselves engulfed in drama and scandal that might send the royal couple fleeing the scene.

This movie was a great edition to the series and really helped to tie up some loose ends from the television series. Both the costumes and the scenery are beautifully depicted and the actors are outstanding.  If you are a fan of the series, this movie is sure to be a hit. My Thoughts

 My children have loved all the How to Train Your Dragon movies and they were so excited to see the legend would carry on with the new movie, The Hidden World. In this newest edition, they discover Toothless isn't the last of his kind. A white female gives him a chance to find a mate. They also discover a whole hidden world of dragons that is threatened by some no-so-nice humans. The viking village bands together with their dragons to save the hidden world and the wild dragons from destruction. 

Join Toothless through this new adventure when he finds a ch You'll see your old favorites, but you'll also get to meet some fun new characters, including new dragons. So far, the series has started out with a bang. I love how the show is loaded with excitement and adventure, but contains minimal violence so the series is appropriate for kids of all ages.My son has watched it at least five times in the week since it arrived.

My Thoughts

In Grand-Daddy Daycare, Frank is a writer trying to get by.  He starts struggling with his writing but he's not ready to give it up for a real job. As a solution, be decides to bring a few seniors into the house and keep an eye on them. He's expecting a bunch of old men will be easy to deal with. Just give them their meds and they'll sleep all day, right? Well, not this cast of characters. These guys still have a little life left in them, and they like to get into trouble. Frank finds he has more work on his hands than he ever expected as he tries to reign in this group of rowdy seniors.

This is a really fun, slapstick film with an all-star cast. Seeing these comedy legends brought together is reason enough to watch the film. You'll laugh out loud, but also appreciate a few tender family moments. If you want to get a copy of this awesome movie for yourself, it's available now on DVD. My Thoughts

Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You is an adorable new Christmas film. It centers around a little girl named Mariah who falls in love with a puppy in a store window. She begs her parents to get her the dog for Christmas, but she has to prove herself before they will agree to it. In order to accomplish this, she has to tackle dog-sitting her uncle's crazy dog, Jack. Jack in quite a handful, and Mariah has a lot of trouble keeping him under control. They have several zany adventures. Mariah learns having a pet isn't as easy as she thought, but that it's still worth all the effort.

I'm a 90s girl, so of course I'm a fan of Mariah Carey.  Anytime You Need a Friend was my high school graduation song and I sobbed along to many of her tunes when I broke up with my first boyfriend.   Her Christmas album is still the first one I break out each year at Thanksgiving, so I was really excited when I heard about this film. I thought it was a great way to share music I love with my children, and I wasn't disappointed. This adorable film is filled with a cute story line, great music, and a little Christmas magic. It's sure to be a holiday classic.

My Thoughts

The original Land Before Time was one of my favorite movies when I was a little girl, so I'm super excited that the tradition is continuing and I can share new films in the series with my own children. In this movie, Littlefoot and his friends go on a brand new adventure to search for Litttlefoot's father. Along the way, they meet some interesting new friends including Etta and Wild Arms. They learn that you can make friend anyone, no matter how different they seem. They also learn a lot about teamwork. 

This is an amazing movie with great animation, colorful characters, and a good moral. In addition to a fun movie, the DVD also includes some great sing-a-long songs featuring one of my favorite artists, Reba McEntire (the voice of Etta)! It's tons of fun for the whole family and a great choice for family movie night.

My Thoughts

I just love WC Fields.  I grew up living with my grandparents, and I have so many fond memories of them watching his movies.  I didn't understand most of the humor back then, but I have a new appreciation for his style now.   This set includes a wide range of films that offer a type of  sarcastic wit that just doesn't exist in today's movies.
