Holiday Gift Guide - Monopoly For Nintendo Switch

America's favorite family board game, monopoly, makes its debut on Nintendo Switch system with new ways to play! experience three unique 3D boards at home or on-the-go with up to six players in total, or take your game online and challenge players in quick matches. Customize your game by selecting from six official House rules chosen by monopoly fans around the world. Don't have time for a full game? speed it up with special goals that shorten play sessions, and actions cards to move you around the board and personalize your opponents. Build your empire and trade your way to victory!

My Thoughts

Finally, there's a game I can actually play with my kids! Monopoly For Nintendo Switch is an exciting family game that brings a classic board games to life on the small screen. You can have up to six players. Each one just has to take a turn with the controller. You can also choose to play against the computer, or go online to play with other people all over the world.

Playing the virtual versions is pretty much the same as playing the board game, except you don't have to worry about losing pieces and there are fun special effects throughout. There are three different 3D boards to choose from, and five different sets of house rules. Playing with my family was a lot of fun. Even the younger ones can take part.  I really love the option of being able to save the game. We all know how frustrating it can be to have to shut down the board game after it goes on for hours with no winner. You can't leave the physical game set up on the kitchen table for days on end, but now you can pick up right where you left off in this virtual version.

Playing online wasn't quite as much fun. If your opponent leaves, the game can end abruptly. My kids prefer playing with each other or against the computer rather than going online. Overall, though, we're very happy with this game. There was a similar version at an arcade on our boardwalk that my kids loved. That one cost me $1 for three rolls. Now they can play as long as they want!

If you'd like to grab a copy of this exciting game, you can find it now in stores nationwide or online at Amazon.

Holiday Gift Guide - Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle - Nintendo Switch

Two worlds collide in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle!

The Mushroom Kingdom has been torn apart by a mysterious vortex, transporting the chaotic Rabbids into this once-peaceful land. To restore order, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi must team up with a whole new crew: four Rabbids heroes! Together, they will battle with weapons through four worlds filled with combat, puzzles, and unpredictable enemies.

Developed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch system, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is the best of the Mario and Rabbids franchises, combining all that you love about Mario’s iconic universe with the side-splitting antics of the Rabbids.

My Thoughts

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle combines two classic games into one. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi join forces with four Rabbids. In this game, you must save the Mushroom Kingdom which is under attack from mysterious forces.   A vortex options up which brings the mischievous rabbids right to Mario's doorstep.

To save their world, Mario and his friends must battle through four different worlds. You can choose from solo or co-op turn-based combat so you can play alone or with friends.  The team is armed with some wild weapons to use against a series of bosses. There are also puzzles and other challenges to solve along the way.

Mario and his friends have certainly come a long way since I played on the original Nintendo back in the 90s. I was especially exited to see the Princess getting some action of her own instead of waiting to be rescued. My children also really enjoyed this game. They found it challenging and exciting, but there are also moments of humor, as there always are when the Rabbids turn up.  You can only get this game for Nintendo Switch, so if you are thinking about getting the system, now would be a great time.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is rated E for everyone and is a fun and interactive game that your whole family will love. The graphics are great and really make you feel like you're part of the show.  Designed for kids ten and older, this game is sure to be hit, but it may be a little too challenging for anyone younger. If you'd like to grab a copy of this fun new game, you can find it in stores nationwide. You can also order a copy for your family on Amazon. They make a great stocking stuffer for  kids of all ages.
