My Thoughts

Vampirina is an adorable  Disney series that centers around a vampire family that goes to live in a human town. Don't worry though--they are nice vampires. They also have a little ghost and werewolf dog who live with them. They open a little Bed & Breakfast and all their friends from Transylvania stop by to visit.  Vampirina is learning to fit in with her new friends and having fun hosting their guests.  This DVD includes nine episodes:

This is an adorable show. My kids just love these new characters, and the DVD is being released just in time for Halloween. This show is a great way to teach kids that being different doesn't have to be bad. The series is definitely a worthy addition to the Disney family.

We're Going on a Mission with Puppy Dog Pals!

This week, Puppy Pals made it's DVD debut. If you aren't familiar with the show, here's a little more about it:


They're cute, cuddly and all collared up for pup-tacular adventures!  While their owner Bob is away, adorable puppy brothers Bingo and Rolly embark on exciting missions stretching from their own backyard to amazing locations all around the world!  With support from their "big sister" Hissy, a neighborhood full of animal friends and Bob's high-tech inventions, these hilarious heroes are always ready to unleash totally paw-some fun!

My kids love this show. It's one of their favorites, and they were thrilled to have it on DVD. The cute puppy brothers appeal to both boys and girls, and kids of all ages can enjoy the adventures and the music. To celebrate the DVD release, Disney sent us a few Puppy Pals themed toys to play with during our DVD screening. This got Nicky and Willow so excited, they couldn't help but sing.

The Bingo and Rolly plush toys are precious, and they look just like the characters. My kids loved snuggling up with them as they watched the new DVD. They are also cozy to sleep with at night.

The six figure action set was a big hit as well. This comes with all the main characters, so you can act act scenes from your favorite show.

DOC McSTUFFINS: TOY HOSPITAL

Join Doc as she expands her practice from the backyard clinic to the magical new world of McStuffinsville, where she will carry on a family tradition by becoming Chief Resident of McStuffins Toy Hospital. After Grandma McStuffins shares the news that she too has the ability to bring toys to life, she transports Doc and her friends to McStuffinsville, a a magical world made up entirely of toys.  There, Doc appoints Lambie in charge of the toy nursery, Stuffy on vet duty, Chilly as receptionist and Hallie as head nurse.

 Also featured are four episodes highlighting the McStuffins' family experience as they encounter the joys of adoption after Mom and Dad McStuffins announce that they are adopting a baby. Storylines focus on a variety of emotions and situations young children can encounter when a new baby arrives in the family. 



My Thoughts 


Doc McStuffins is one of my daughter's favorite shows. Doc, Lambie, Hallie the Hippo, and all the other toys are a great cast of friends. This DVD set brings us one full length adventure and four other shows,  making for over an hour of an half of fun. You'll see Doc open up her own hospital, welcome a new sibling into her home, get a surprising visit from grandma, and so much more. The episodes include:

This is such a great show. The songs and stories are always fun, but also teach valuable lessons, like not being afraid to go to the doctor and how to prepare your child for a new baby. My daughter watches these shows over and over again and never gets tired of them. Any fan of the Doc will want this DVD in their collection.

My Thoughts

Sheriff Callie's Wild West is an adorable series on Disney Junior. Each show has a great moral but also an interesting story-line that gets children engaged. The Western setting is really fun, and who wouldn't love Callie, the adorable calico kitten.  This DVD includes five fantastic episodes:

 Mile from Tomorrowland is a great show for anyone who enjoys space travel or futuristic television with an educational twist. This DVD includes five exciting episodes:

Runaway Shuttle/Surfin’ The Whirlpool -A ship is about to crash into Juniper, and Miles & Merc save the day. Then on a surftrip, Miles and Leo have to escape a whirlpool.

Ocean In Motion/Explorer Exchange - Miles helps fix a waterprobe, and an alien comes to stay with his family as part of an exchange program.

Game On/ How I Saved My Summer Vacation - Playing Galaxis becomes a game of survival for Miles and Miles and Loretta discover a ancient secret.

Who Stole The Stellosphere?/Rock N’ Roll - A thief sneaks on board the  Stellosphere and steals it.  Then Miles and Merc must save the Callistos from an earthquake.

The first is, of course, about Minnie, but all the characters get a chance to shine and each show focuses on pets or other adorable animals.  

1. Minnie's Pet Salon -Pluto is getting ready for the pet-show and Minnie is there to help. Her pet salon makes it easy for Pluto and lots of other furry four-legged friends to get the pampering they need to make an entrance. Of course, there has to be a twist and not all the pets that show up are what you might expect. Everyone on the team has a job, whether its washing, grooming, or training the pets to do tricks.

2. Daisy's Pet Project - Daisy has to choose a pet for the Pet Parade, but she can't decide what pet to take. In the end she winds up with three--an elephant, a giraffe, and a bunny!


3. Pluto's Puppy-Sitting Adventure -  Clarabelle asks Mickey to babysit her puppy, Bella. He and Pluto have to give her a bath, feed her lunch and get her to take a nap, but its not as easy as they think it'll be.

4. Donald's Ducks - Donald finds a bunch of baby ducklings who are lost, and he helps them find their way back to the beach.
 
5. Pluto Lends a Paw - Minnie's cat Figaro wanders away and Pluto and the rest of the gang  set out to find him.

My Thoughts

 Super Stretchy is a fun game that teaches coordination and helps with matching skills. It consists of a giant  play mat, cards, and card holder. Instructions are very easy to follow and even small children will be able to play independently. Simply shuffle the cards and have one person stand on the mat. This is the  "stretcher". Five cards are drawn and flipped over in the empty spots on the card holder. The rest of the players call out where the stretcher needs to put their arm, foot, elbow, head, and knee. Each player gets a turn at being the stretcher and whoever manages to touch the most spots at the end of the game will be the winner.

 I think what I love the most about this game is the fact that it includes so many different characters from Disney Junior including Sophia the First, Doc McStuffisn, Micky Mouse Clubhouse, and Jack and the Neverland Pirates.  I have four children, and they all like different shows. The Super Stretchy game  has all their favorites so no one is left out. Both boys and girls can enjoy it equally, making it a great choice for the whole family.  It's lots of fun and teaches kids colors and shapes while they're playing.

My Thoughts
My kids LOVE the Octonauts. My three and six-year-olds will spend hours upon hours watching them on Disney Junior! As a parent I love that the Octonauts teach the kids about treating each other with respect and helping others; they are very educational without the kids thinking they're being taught something. I love the characters are different and there is diversity between all of them! The kids really love the coloring pages and other activities offered on the Octonauts.com and DisneyJunior.com.
