My Thoughts
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil brings us the story of Aurora and Sleeping Beauty from a very different and highly original perspective. In this version, Maleficent and Aurora have spent many years together and have formed an unbreakable bond. Instead of Maleficent being the villain, the queen is the evil one out to destroy Aurora and the kingdom. Aurora has the fight the queen and her guards to return to Maleficent who is the closest person to a mother she's ever had.
This is a fantastic film that doesn't disappoint. The imagery is astounding and the story line is very entertaining. While Angelie Jolie isn't in it as much as you'd expect when she's playing the title character, it leaves you with an air of mystery and the integrity she's known for. The Blu-ray set also offers some great bonus footage including multiple featurettes and extended scenes. Every Disney fan will want to have this in their collection. It's a masterpiece in filmography and a prime example of the magic of Disney.
