TRIAL & RETRIBUTION: Complete Collection

TRIAL & RETRIBUTION: Complete Collection (DVD Debut)

“So damn addictive” -Film.com

“Great crime series” -NPR Weekend Edition

Created and written by Lynda La Plante, this long-running British series displays the same hard-bitten sensibility and emotional resonance that made Prime Suspect a television landmark. The 22 feature-length mysteries in this complete collection each follow a case from the scene of the crime to the courtroom verdict. Boasting innovative storytelling and uncompromising realism, Trial & Retribution powerfully portrays the psychological scars that violence leaves behind. David Hayman (Sid and Nancy) stars as DCS Mike Walker, with Kate Buffery (Wish Me Luck) and Victoria Smurfit(About a Boy) as his partners. Guest stars include Hugh DancyIain GlenRosamund Pike, and Michael Fassbender. (1997-2009, 18-Disc set, 22 feature-length eps, $99.99)

My Thoughts

Trial and Retribution is a a crime series set in England. Like America's Law and Order, this series follows the case through the police investigation and the courtroom. The series ran for twelve seasons and includes 22 feature length episodes. All of them are included in this DVD set. Here's a little about a few of my favorite shows.

Series 1, Episode 1 & 2 - A little girl goes missing from a playground. The police thinks its a local drunk, but they lack evidence.

Petite - A teenager vanishes while delivering newspapers. Things looks grim and her disappearance is linked to a known stalker.

Series 6: Part 1 & 2 - Things set intense for the detectives. A mother is kidnapped, leaving behind her young daughter.

Suspicion - The daughter of a judge goes missing and a woman's hand shows up by the riverbank.

In addition to 22 fantastic episodes, this box set also includes some fantastic bonus footage including behind the scenes footage and interviews with the cast. You can grab the complete collection online at Acorn Media for only $99.99 or look for it on Amazon.
