My Thoughts
This amazing novel is an adaption of a best-selling novel. Set in Harlem, in the 1970s, we follow the budding romance of Tish and Fonny. They are engaged and ready to step into their happily ever after. Everything is going well until Fonny is arrested for a crime Tish knows he would never commit. Refusing to give us on their dreams, Tish fights for her fiance and proves that love is the strongest force of all.
I really enjoyed this movie. It was a great combination of drama, romance, and intrigue. I was also impressed with the realistic costumes that make me feel like I stepped back into the disco era. The actors all did an amazing job. Their performances were emotional and real. I would recommend this film to anyone who who enjoys a good drama or romance.
