My Thoughts
Treasure Hounds is an adorable movie about a dog who takes his family on a hunt for lost treasure. In this movie, Jack inherits a home from his grandfather which comes complete with a talking dog named Skipper. Jack learns that his grandmother hid a treasure that is worth a small fortune. He makes friends with some of the other neighborhood kids, and Skipper leads them on an adventure to find the gold. However, there are some thieves who learned about the treasure too, and the kids will need to outwit them to get to it first.
My kids always love movies with animals in them, especially dogs. This one was lots of fun because of the exciting adventure the dog and his human friends were led on. It's like a combination of India Jones and Air Bud with a little Home Alone mixed in when the kids are outmaneuvering the bad guys. The story-line is a little predictable, but will be a lot of fun for younger viewers. There is no serious violence, but lots of laughs and a little intrigue. This is a great choice for a family film on family movie night. It's a flick the whole family is sure to enjoy.
