Why is this important?
Because you want the surface your food touches to be BPA free, naturally anti-bacterial and to not leach chemicals. Kangovou food-grade stainless steel provides these benefits and is also light weight, durable, does not rust, cleans easily with soap and water, and is top shelf dishwasher safe.
Kangovou outer jackets are BPA, PVC, and phthalate free. Kangovou uses materials which are free of bisphenol-A, polyvinyl chloride and the chemical phthalate.
Bisphenol-A and polyvinyl chloride are plastics used for making PVC pipes, DVDs and CD’s. Phthalate is a chemical which helps plastics bend.
Additionally, the Kangovou outer jacket prevents the transfer of heat, cold and condensation.
Our Thoughts
I have been wanting a set of these types of containers for a long time! I hate using plastic, it just cakes on grease and it leeches nasty chemicals into your food. I love the sleek design of Kangovou's products and these containers hold a lot! I know this is the kids line, but as you can see below, they are sufficient for an adults meal. The soup and salad photo was my lunch and the container photo was my husband's lunch and we both were sufficiently full with the amount of food that fit into these.
This line holds a lot of food, is appealing to the eye, is very easy to clean, and the compartments hold adequate portions. It's great that it's separated in the try because lots of kids don't like their foods touching, the other flat tray is great for like pasta and things of that nature that you don't care about touching. You wouldn't even use all of these containers at once for a child's meal, not even for an adults meal so this is also great for picnic-ing because you can take a lot of food.
The lid clasps on so that food doesn't spill out, which I think is amazing. I throw the containers in my purse for lunch and don't worry about it spilling out at all. It's also very easy to interchange the divided tray and the main tray.
I like to hand wash all the items, it just takes a simple wipe with some hot soapy water and they come clean, food being stuck on hasn't been an issue. The hardest thing to clean is the cup but even that isn't hard as long as you clean it after each use.
These are GREAT for busy families and busy moms and for lunches at school or work. Very versatile and I love the color, very unisex!
