Winning Moves Summer Fun #Giveaway

Soon the kids will be out of school and we'll be looking for ways to keep them occupied. Winning Moves has tons of fun games to help make your summer run smoothly. Choose from classic board games you enjoyed as a child to brand new creations kids are sure to love. Here are five of our top picks.

This classic edition features the charming graphics and components from the game's early days! Celebrating over 65 years of great family fun!

My Thoughts

Candyland was my favorite game growing up, and I'm so excited to be able to share it with my children.  It's fun because its easy for younger children to follow along. The object of the game is to be the first gingerbread man to reach the end of the board. You'll travel through familiar areas like the Gumdrop Mountains and the Peppermint Stick Forest.  How far your piece moves is determined by the color card you draw. There are also specialty cards that can either give you a push forward in the right direction or cause you to have to move backwards.

This is such a great game. The board and pieces are high quality and this 65 year anniversary edition is designed to look just like the original. It's a great way for kids to learn their colors and have some fun while they're at it. Its also a great way to continue a family tradition that has lasted for generations.

Just like the classic game play of Connect 4, but each layer of the tower twists! See if you can "Drop, Twist and Win!"

My Thoughts

This a fun version of Connect Four with a unique "twist".  The object of the game is the same as its always been. You simply need to get four chips of the same color to line up.  The difference is that the game unit is round and the different levels can be twisted and turned. This makes it a lot more challenging to get four in a row.

Connect Four Twist & Turn is a fun, fast paced game that kids of all ages will enjoy. From six to fourteen, my children all enjoyed it, and I liked playing it with them too. Even though its a little different than the version I was used to, its still a great family game.

Mold your own school of dough-fish and get ready to "squish" your opponents' fish! Every three-in-a-row with the cards earns you a squish. But, stay on your fins! Everyone else is trying to squish your fish too!

My Thoughts

This is quickly becoming one of my children's favorite games. The love playing with modeling dough, so I knew it would be a big hit. You start out by having each player make five fish with their dough. Then you lay out 36 cards. Each player takes a turn flipping a card. If you get three different fish in a row, you get to squish an opponent's fish. They can be in any direction, but you must have one purple, one red, and one yellow fish in order to squish a fish.

This is a great game that is very easy for young children and helps teach them color recognition. My kids had a great time squishing each other's fish and making them all over again.  They played with it for hours.

A classic child's counting game for over 50 years! Children develop and practice math skills like counting, addition and subtraction by picking fruit from their trees to fill their buckets. Ho-Ho and away we go!

My Thoughts

There is nothing better than the classics.   The object of this game is to be the first to gather all your cherries.  To accomplish this, you need to spin the wheel. You could pick anywhere from one to four cherries per turn. But be careful! If you land on the dog or the bird, you have to put one back. Land on the spilled basket, and all your cherries have to go back.

Hi-Ho Cherry-O is the perfect way to help kids practice their counting skills. My kids had a ton of fun playing.  The board and the pieces are well made and sturdy. I love that it comes with a few extra cherries because they will be easy to lose.

Beloved 1980's version of the classic mystery face game! There's a mystery person on your opponent's card. Can you find the matching face in the crowd?

 My Thoughts

I grew up in the eighties and this game is exactly the way I remember it. The game comes with two game units and 24 cards. Each player picks one face card, and the object of the game is for the other player to guess which of the characters you have.  You accomplish this by asking questions like, "Does your character have a beard?" or "Does your person have glasses?" Each time a question is answered, certain people will be eliminated.

I have always loved this game, but keeping the little cardboard pictures in the game unit can be frustrating. They tend to fall out, and if you lose even one, its hard to play the game.  Still, a great classic the whole family will enjoy, and I definitely like this classic version better than more modern editions that take batteries.

These are only a few examples of the fun games available from Winning Moves. To view their full collection, be sure to visit their website or follow them via their social media.
