It's made from corkscrew which is not only a hardy material but looks really attractive. The actual rod is a sleek hunter green color that is so dark its almost black. The spool is sturdy aluminum and getting the line around the spool was a breeze. My son did it himself in only a few minutes.
The pole is seven feet long, and is very easy for adults or older kids to handle. There are only two pieces that snap together easily, and can come right apart to allow for easy storage once the line is removed. My son and husband took the pole out for a test drive, and while they didn't catch anything that they didn't throw back, it was a fun bonding day.
