Summer Camp Essentials

As parents are preparing to send their kids off to summer camp, one of the most stressful things (besides preparing for separation anxiety) can be choosing what to pack without bursting the seams on your duffel bag. While packing your child’s beloved stuffed teddy bear will take up space, you’ll want to be sure to include it as it might help soothe your child during those first nights away from home. To save space, replace bulky pre-packaged first aid kits with a homemade version featuring just the items you need. Whether it’s their first year as an overnight camper or they are king of the campfire, making sure kids have the essentials they need will help prepare them for a fun and safe summer camp experience!

·         NEOSPORIN® helps prevent infection of minor cuts and scrapes, and with NEO TO GO!® First Aid Antiseptic/Pain Relieving Spray, application is easy on-the-go.
·         Include a full supply of your child’s regular medications along with a list of all of the medications and contact information for your child’s doctor in case any issues arise.

·         Cover minor cuts and scrapes with BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages featuring your child’s favorite characters like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and Monsters Inc.

·         Pack a bottle of BENADRYL® READYMIST® Itch Stopping Spray to relieve itchy bug bites and soothe rashes.
·         Be sure to include a few spray bottles of sunscreen for full protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays.

My Thoughts

This selection of products is a must-have whether your kids are in camp or at home. Let's start with the Band-Aids. We all know you can't go wrong with this brand. They always stick when you want them to, and they never hurt when you peel them off. Having the Micky Mouse design is incentive for fussy toddlers to leave their Band-aids on so they can heal and avoid  cuts getting dirty. These come in a tin case, which is perfect to carry around in your purse on diaper bag.

Neo on the Go is another product you should never leave home without. If the kids fall and scrape their knee while you're at the park or hiking the nature trails, you can treat them on the spot instead of having to cut your activities short. The compact size will fit in your pocket just as easily as your purse. I  was already using these and I have one everywhere--in my purse, my beach bag, even the glove compartment of my car. You can never be too prepared!

Last, but certainly not least, it's the time of year when all things itchy are in full fledged attack mode.  Here in mosquito territory, we can't walk out the door after dusk without getting attacked by a swarm, and it's hard to keep them out of the house. Benadryl Itch Cooling Spray works wonders on moquito bites as well as other minor annoyances like poison ivy and sunburn.

If you'd like to add these fabulous products to your summer inventory, you can find them at retailers nationwide including but not limited to Walmart, Walgreens, Target and CVS.
