With Valentine's Day right around the corner, it's time to plan that romantic dinner for two. You've got the menu planned; you've got the kids' bags packed for their overnight stay at granny's; and you've got a wine selected.
Perhaps there's even a sexy outfit in there?
But imagine this: the candles are lit, the filet mignon is steaming on the table, you're wearing your best dress...and darn it...suddenly you're grunting, panting, and your face is all scrunched up--NOT sexy, right?
You can't get the wine open!
More grunting, pulling, cursing, panting, as your knuckles turn white around your little corkscrew.
The steak is getting cold!
Yes, you could always ask the husband to open it, but sometimes they have trouble too. How about you just avoid this problem altogether this year and all the years thereafter?
Because Ozeri has a new wine opener that really does the trick. I know, I tried it.
It's electric. You charge it by setting it in a stand, plugging it in, and waiting. When it's fully charged, it will open 60 wine bottles. When you wish to use it, you merely do the following:
-Use the foil cutter to remove the foil seal. *This foil cutter also serves as the stand!*
-Line up the opening of the remover with the opening of the wine bottle and gently push down. (until the cork is removed. I figured this out the hard way. I stopped pressing, thinking it would continue on its own.)
-When you release the pressure, the cork is supposed to automatically eject from the opener.
I had a bottle opened in a mere minute. No face scrunching, no panting, no gasping.
Save that for your later exertions... :)
Appearance wise, this wine opener is attractive stainless steel and should look acceptable in any kitchen. As an added bonus, it also comes with a reusable cork that also serves as a spout--I hear this improves the taste of your wine.
You place the spout in the bottle opening and inside its opening goes a little corn with a loop for easy removable and replacement.
You can buy yourself one or a friend one on Amazon, Sears, or go to your local Home Depot.
