The Moms Behind The Mat

Seven years ago, when I had my first child, I was looking for something that had the function of a splat mat, the portability of a blanket and the look and stability of a rug. No matter where I looked, I couldn't find anything that fit my criteria, so I set out to make one myself. I started by ironing vinyl onto fabric in my kitchen, and seven years — and dozens of prototypes later — the Posh Play Mat was born. The final product is everything I was looking for and more--functional, portable, wipeable and beautiful. It's made with child-friendly, environmentally-responsible materials. It's Modern, Eco-Friendly Baby Gear.

Shortly after my second child arrived, my dear friend Emily became a mom for the first time. She and her little one attended a few outdoor play dates, suffered through tummy time on hardwood floors, and spilled more than a few ounces of milk — and other things — along the way. Like me, she found herself dissatisfied with a blanket that wouldn't stay put and had to be washed after every spill or grassy outing. So she went in search of that perfect product, and she found it...on my living room floor, the then-unnamed Posh Play Mat. She was my first customer and quickly became my business partner. Our hope now is to share a product we truly believe in with moms everywhere. And in the process, our goal is to develop a successful business centered around providing the best possible products for our children and our world without sacrificing our sense of style.

Our Thoughts

Posh Playmats are so convenient! I can't count how many times my kids threw up, had a blow out diaper, spilled their juice or threw their food while out in public. I'm not a big fan of laundry, so a play mat that I can literally wipe off is perfect.

We also spend a lot of time outdoors so this is great for yard work and park-play. Any mess is wipeable! Eco-friendly, PVC-free and animal friendly (faux leather), what a great product to appeal to an array of mothers (and parents in general).

I also did not realize the playmat was as large as it is! Ample room for your little one to wiggle, roll over and scoot around without having to put them "back on the mat" every few seconds!

Stylish and easy to pack up, as it comes with a cute tote just for it, this is going to be a favorite product for myself to use for our new arrival.
