Enough Said Blu-ray Review

Enough Said
James Gandolfini, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Catherine Keener shine in this heartwarming comedy that A.O. Scott of The New York Times calls “a small miracle of a movie.”

Divorced mom Eva (Louis-Dreyfus) may be falling for Albert (Gandolfini), a sweet, funny, like-minded divorcĂ©. But as their relationship blossoms, Eva befriends Marianne (Keener), who’s always complaining about her ex-husband. When Eva realizes that Albert is the target of Marianne’s rants, she begins to question her own perceptions about first impressions and second chances.

My Thoughts

A lot of the time it seems that romance movies are geared only towards the very young. Its always refreshing to see a movie where the storyline revolves around a middle-aged couple. In Enough Said, Eva is a divorced mom with a daughter on the road to college. She's in the market for love and she meets Albert who is also a divorcee. Even though she is a little more sophisticated, she falls for his goofy charm. Things get more complicated when Eva befriends a massage therapist named Marianne. She is always complaining about her ex-husband, and soon Eva learns Albert and Marianne's ex are one in the same. But Eva doesn't let that interfere with her budding relationship. Of course a confrontation between the three is inevitable and is loaded with lots of laughs.

Enough Said is a sweet romantic comedy with some great lines and tender moments. Gandolfi steals the show with his endearing portrayal  of Albert, but the whole  cast delivers a stellar performance. While the ending is predictable, it's still a touching movie about the power of second chances.
