Wedding Band: The Complete First Season DVD Review

Synopsis

You’re cordially invited to party it up with the WEDDING BAND, the hilarious and light-hearted new comedy starring Brian Austin Green and Harold Perrineau. Follow the outrageously funny ups and downs of four friends who are members of a fun-loving Seattle rock band called Mother of the Bride. They haven’t figured out their personal lives, but they do know one thing for sure — weddings are the best place to meet women, drink up and rock out. Featuring A-list guest stars like Megan Fox and Molly Sims, this Wedding Crashers-meets- The Wedding Singer comedy mash-up marries the two key elements to any great party…terrific music and lots of laughter.

 My Thoughts
The Wedding Band is a slap-stick comedy about a group of guys who form a band.  Some are single and looking for women and a one is married and attempting to rekindle his youth. They know they're never going to make it big, but they at least get the chance to rock out a the local weddings every now and then. Lead by Brian Austin Green, this group of rowdy musicans drum up a whole lot of laughs including scenes involving a deflated breast implant. The band also gets into it with the sci-fi geeks in one episode and in another they have to play at one of the guy's ex-girlfriends weddings. There is definitely plenty of drama along with the laughs. There are lots of cool guest stars to help spice things up and keep the entertainment fresh, and the music was way better than I expected. While for the most part I did enjoy it, I found the show to be a little too predictable at times.  I also think this particular series would have worked better with half-hour episodes. Trying to pull off an hour makes it feel unnecessarily drawn out. The best part of the series for me is seeing my favorite 90210 hottie still has what it takes 20 years later!
