Travel the World with Scents: Colonial Candle Review

I love to travel. There are many places still on my "to go to" list. I just don't have the funds. I mean, traveling Stateside isn't too bad, but Australia? Bora Bora? Spain? Hey...a plane ticket alone is like 1k or more. Noooo thanks. Not right now. ;)

There's a much cheaper solution. Candles. Ranging in price (depending on size) from $3 to $25, it's heck of a lot cheaper than a real trip to the destination of your dreams. Introducing the Destinations collection from Colonial Candles. It features fragrances evocative of renowned vacation getaways around the globe, such as *Charleston, Bora Bora, and Barcelona. *Available in 8-ounce signature oval jars and is gift boxed with storage drawer containing a Colonial Candle matchbook

Though many of you can afford a trip to Charleston, you may not have the time, or you may just be waiting 'til the kids are grown and gone. In the meantime...transport yourself with any of six scents: Rainbow Row, Benne Wafer, Sweet Grass Basket, Battery Park, Cobblestone Walk and Yellow Jasmine.
Now Bora Bora is on MY destination list, but alas....*sigh*, it wont' be for a long while, not unless I win the lottery and I'm not the gambling type.  Scents in this collection are Monoi Pearl, Coconut Milk and Lime, Orchid & Violet, and Coral & White Sands.

LOVE this candle!
Last, but not least, can't get to Spain to see the latest bullfighting competition? Get lost in the smells of  the Barcelona Collection, featuring four fragrances reminiscent of the historic Spanish city: Sangria Blanca, Caramel Flan, Spanish Bluebell and La Tomatina

Here's where my review comes in: I received one Barcelona Spanish Bluebell candle.

Pros:
-It smells good, if a bit of a soap-like smell. My first thought was of those cone-like blue things are parents would put around in the house in 70s and 80s.
-Lovely color, like a lavender.
-Heavy glass, complete with a lid. Nothing cheapy looking here.
-It will obviously burn for a LONG time.
-I have vaulted and high ceilings. I left a candle burning in the dining room, went upstairs one flight into my office and anytime I approached the top of the stairs, I could smell it.

Cons:
-I just wasn't crazy about this particular scent, but I did like another one...keep reading.

I also received a Gin & Tonic, same size and look, from The Colonial Cocktails Collection. What a brilliant idea!!!! I LOVED this one. I smelled it as soon as I took the lid off and just left the candle sitting on the dining room table. What I especially got a kick out of, however, was the label on the back. It tells you how to make a gin and tonic! AND it's removable.

This candle really delighted me, far more than the bluebell one. The scent, strength, label all got A's in my book. *SEe photo above.*

But I digress. The Cocktail collections features seven cocktail-inspired fragrances:  Strawberry Daiquiri, Pina Colada, Amber Ale, Gin & Tonic, Manhattan, Mint Julep and Sweet Tea Vodka.

Final note: Colonial Candles are made in the USA using eco-friendly techniques in a certified green facility, and all candles are sold on www.colonialcandle.com and in retail stores across the country.

And that's my two scents. Pun intended.
No financial reimbursement was received. I was sent two candles in exchange for an honest review, posted above.
