Fit Your Face With Kohl's Sunglasses

I have a hard time finding sunglasses that suit my face. Why? I have those chipmunk cheeks. When I smile, my cheeks poof at the top and a lot of sunglasses happen to rest there and they lift with my cheeks. So every time I smile or laugh or move my cheeks, my glasses tend to move with them, making me look uber comical.

So when this Sunglass Guide from Kohl's landed in my inbox, I was eager to try it out. "You think you can tell me what suits my face? Let's see..."

So, just to see if they really do know my face, I chose a pair of shades from their online selection, without being able to try them on, and just took a chance...How do you imagine that worked out for me? First, the guide:

If you have a round face, the Kohl's Guide says to create contrast, wear square or rectangular frames. Opt for frames that are equal to or slightly wider than the broadest part of the face.

Their suggestions:

If you have a square face, sunglasses with a higher top than at the bridge add dynamics to this face shape. Try oval and round frames to soften facial features. Like these:

Long face? And I don't mean you're just sad; you just honestly have a longer face...since the face is longer than it is wide, look for volume not length when it comes to finding the perfect shade. Opt for more angular and squared lenses. Such as these:

If you're like me and have a heart-shaped face, where the top is wider than your chin, choose a pair that draws attention downward to add width to the lower part of the face. Try to look for glasses that are wider at the top and narrower at the bottom such as aviators and cat-eye sunglasses. I found my pair in this bunch. And believe me, I spent a lot of time looking in the mirror trying to figure out what face type I was.

Can you guess which one I got? I'll post a photo of the ones I got here and you see if you know which ones they are out of the list below.

Mine. I'm pleased to say the guide was spot-on and I ended up with a pair that suit my face and don't move when I smile. The glasses are totally compatible with chipmunk cheeks.

Still don't know which ones I got? The Apt.9 Floral Cat's Eye in pink and black. See, be sure you click on the photo even if it's not a color you'd want to put on your face. They have other options.

The guide worked. The sunglasses I scored are stylish, suit my face, and are in my favorite colors. They are heavy duty plastic too, not cheap feeling stuff. And the best part? These shades are on sale right now. My sunglasses, for example, are regularly 26 bucks. They are on sale for 14.99. That's pretty cheap! I say it's the perfect summer shades option for that stylish gal on a budget. Go to your nearest Kohl's and nab your pair before they sell out. Or buy online on their site.

On that note, I'm leaving you with another photo.

Disclaimer, again: I only received a pair of sunglasses in exchange for my honest thoughts. No financial reimbursement.
