Book Review & Giveaway: David Carter's 100: Lift Flap and Learn to Count

***Complimentary copy received in exchange for an honest review***
From children's book superstar DAVID CARTER:
100 surprises are in this book, just waiting for kids to sneak a look!

Flaps upon flaps upon flaps—100 of them—are layered on top of each other like gift boxes filled with surprises. Acclaimed master paper engineer and illustrator David Carter offers children a magical experience as they uncover an array of 100 wonderful things in a variety of landscapes. From zippy city streets—where successive flaps open to show a truck, taxi, bicycle, scooter, and skateboarder—to scenes deep undersea, in the forest, and in a prehistoric world with dinosaurs, this clever, visually astonishing book will amaze kids…and teach them to count up to 100 too!

 Where to Buy

You can get your copy of David Carter's 100 on Amazon for only $12.74.

My Thoughts

My daughter is getting ready for preschool and one of the things we're working on is counting. We have tons of books but they never count never high. Even the educational programs rarely go past twenty. So, I was extremely excited to discover David Carter's 100.  This is the first book I have ever come across that helps children learn to count all the way to 100 and does it with adorable illustrations kids will love. Each page of the book contains multiple flaps. For example, the first page is an underwater scene. You lift #1, the coral flap, to find an octopus beneath with the #2, and a fish with #3, and so on.  There are also scenes with bike riding, ice cream parlors,  and lots of other fun places.  Each page has between five and ten fun flaps until you've counted up to 100.

My daughter loved lifting each flap and discovering what new surprise would be hiding beneath it, and her counting skills are improving each day.  She is only three and was counting up to twelve before we received this book. Now she can already count independently to thirty. This is by far the best counting book I have come across in twelve years of parenting, and every child should have it in their library.
