Book Review - Night Buddies: Imposters and One Far Out Flying Machine

Night Buddies revolves around the nighttime adventures of a young boy named John, who is not ready to go to sleep, and a bright red crocodile named Crosley who turns up under John’s bed. As the stories in each book open, this unlikely pair sneaks out of John’s house using Crosley’s I-ain’t-here doodad, which makes them invisible to John’s parents. They embark on their Program, the Night Buddies word for Adventure, and make their way around the Borough chasing down enemies and cleaning up the mishaps at hand.

In Sands Hetherington’s new second book in the Night Buddies series, Night Buddies, Impostors, and One Far-Out Flying Machine, red crocodiles start popping up all over the city, creating confusion, committing crimes, and causing Crosley to go a little crazy at the sight of them.

The impostors must be stopped, and Night Buddies John and Crosley are just the guys to stop them!

Stakeouts and wild chases in a fantastic flying machine, far-out schemes to snare the imposters, and a never-ending supply of Crusted Crème Fro-Madge frozen yogurt make for one totally super night.

These adventures after lights-out will delight any young reader who relishes an adventure/fantasy in the wee hours of the night.

Where to Buy

Night Buddies: Imposters and One Far Out Flying Machine is available on Amazon for only $8.99.

 Our Thoughts

I did not read this book personally, but my ten-year-old son did, and I am conveying this thoughts on the book. First, I should mention that he did not read the first book in the series and found it was still easy to follow and can stand on its own. The story revolves around a little boy and a red crocodile named Crosley.  There are wonderful illustrations throughout that help to bring the story to life. You follow them along in their travels through Borough and meet some truly interesting characters. Crosley has been accused of some terrible crimes and he is trying to clear his name. All in all, this is a great middle grade book that will get children's imaginations flowing. My son rarely reads a book from cover to cover of his own free will, but this one he read with excitement and it only took a week for him to finish it (this is a record for him). I would recommend this novel for both girls and boys between the ages of eight and twelve.
