StudyDog Review

StudyDog is a popular early reading skills program using fun interactive games specially designed for pre-kindergarten through first grade. It’s a proven leader in helping children quickly learn to read and has helped more than 6 million kids master the basics.

What sets StudyDog apart from other learning programs is how StudyDog engages future readers as young as three years old. Similar reading software is able to engage older students who already know how to read. But StudyDog uses games and other features to connect with younger children who haven’t learned to read yet.
The program pre-assesses each child and creates individualized lesson sequences by identifying their knowledge level and skill gaps. Parents are able to monitor progress using the programs real-time reporting.

 Our Thoughts

This program is so cool and easy to use. As a homeschooler, I have a lot of computer programs that assist me in teaching my two kids. The opportunity to try out studydog came along at the perfect time as my oldest has really started showing interest in reading and writing.

This program is easy for her to navigate and there are different characters to keep her attention. Each “section” has three different lessons so my child became familiar with topic, such as consonants and sounds as well as others. The lessons are repetitive, but in a good way since it keeps the child constantly engaged in the same activity/learning so it embeds in their mind. We haven’t gone through all the lessons, as there are quite a few, but this is very enjoyable for my daughters and I to do together.
