Valentine's Day Gift Guide - Endangered Species Chocolate Review & Giveaway

If you're anything like me, you probably like to give your kids a special treat on Valentine's Day because this day of love isn't just about romantic love. Its about the love of your family as well. Instead of giving them the same heart shaped boxes I do every year, I thought I'd try something a little different.  So we tried out Endangered Species Chocolates bars. They are certified organic and fair trade chocolates you can have delivered right to your door. They are also a unique and all-natural alternative to regular candy bars that really do taste great. For my children the best part was the adorable wrappers that feature some of their favorite endangered animals including chimpanzees, otters, and exotic birds.

I love organic food, but I also love my chocolate so I wasn't sure if these were going to win me over. I have tried other brands of organic chocolate and they usually fall short on flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this organic chocolate tastes just as good as the chocolate we normally buy.  It was rich, creamy, and delicious. When my children tried it, they didn't even notice it wasn't our regular brand. We tried both dark chocolate and milk chocolate varieties, but my favorite by far was the tasty cherry chocolate that had actually hunks of real cherries mixed in.The dark chocolate with sea salt and almonds was also a unique treat and the perfect combination of salty and sweet.

Endangered Special Chocolate offers more than just great chocolate in a cute package. The thing I like the most about this company, and the thing that will make me come back to them again and again, is that they donate a portion of their proceeds to charities to help the animals they love maintain their natural habitats including the African Wildlife Foundation. In addition to the full size bars, they also offer pouches, bites, and gift sets. This Valentine's Day, give a gift that is an all-natural choice for your family and a great choice for the animals we all want to preserve--choose Endangered Species Chocolate.

To celebrate Valentine's Day, one lucky winner is going to receive a selection of Endangered Species Chocolates valued at $25 (image is just an example of the selection and not the actual prize). To enter, just fill in the Rafflecopter form below. This giveaway will end on 2/14/13. The winner will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to Endangered Speces Chocolates for offering this fantastic prize.

I learned this: The percentage of cocoa solids present in the chocolate is one indication of the bar’s quality and flavor. Chocolates with high cocoa contents possess a richer, more intense flavor. Health benefits from antioxidants can be found in high cocoa content chocolate. Our milk chocolates offer 43-48% cocoa content. Our dark chocolates offer 70-88% cocoa content.
