Getting Started

Ringya has a clean, inviting interface. After downloading, simply register and you’re ready to start creating Rings.

·         Ringya is currently available on the iPhone from the App Store
·         Follow the simple instructions to register - entering your cell phone number, which will serve as your Ringya ID, and your email address (which enables you to communicate via email, and also confirms your ID within Rings).
·         A verification code will be sent to you by text. Enter it.

Add your First Ring:
Simply tap the Ringya logo to transform any contact list from your fridge, wall or computer into a mobile list. Either take a photo of the list from within the app or email it to rings@ringya.com
·         Ringya will notify you when your Ring is ready.
You can also choose “Manually” to create an original list using existing contacts in your smartphone address book. 

                         
Now that you have your first Ring, you can call, email or text individuals or the group. You can search list members by name or title, and easily share the list with other Ring members so they can access it and enjoy it too.

How is Ringya different from my phone’s address book?
Ringya is changing the way smartphone users organize their mobile contacts and offers a new way of collaboration.  Ringya is the first-of-a-kind mobile app that allows users to upload contact lists simply by snapping a photo.  Whether a paper or digital list, Ringya effortlessly transforms each list into a smart, organized Ring that allows users to call, text or email individuals or groups of people.  Rings can also be instantly shared by accepting an invitation to a Ringya list.

Is Ringya free?
Yes.

Do I have to take a photo to import contact information?
No. You can email a digital list to rings@ringya.com and it is uploaded, organized and send back shortly.

How do I use Ringya to communicate?
After uploading a list, you can search for someone by Ring or by role. You can email, text or phone a single person, select a group of people or contact an entire list. You can also share a Ring with others who are listed in that Ring.

How does Ringya add associations and labels to lists?
When uploading class and team lists, Ringya matches up the contact information of the parent and child and labels that connection. So when you receive a call from Julie Smith’s mom, Ann, it reads “Ann Smith, Julie’s Mom.” It serves as a great memory refresher.

Is a Ring private?
Yes. The Ring remains private unless you choose to share it with others. Ringya adheres to strict privacy policy. User account is held in strict confidence and will not be sold or rented to the 3rd parties.  You can read more about our privacy policy here: http://ringya.com/privacy.

If someone appears in more than one list, which Ring will I see on my caller ID when they call?
When a Ring contact calls, Ringya will display all the information entered about the person, including name, title and Ring(s).

What kinds of lists are most useful as Rings?
Work-related Rings and those related to your children’s school and social life are common, but many types of Rings are useful, such as alumni, community, clubs, family, committees and more.

What are some common uses for sending an email to a mobile list?
There are many reasons a user would want to send out an email: game changed, school closed, weather alert, running late and change of plans are just a few examples.

Can I search Ringya?
Yes, all mobile lists are accessible and searchable at any time.

What devices support Ringya?
Ringya is currently compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad (requires iOS 4.2 or later). An Android app is coming soon.

Can I share the contact list with people who don’t have supported devices?
Sure. People with supported devices will get Ringya and the Rings they’ve been invited to instantly. Android users will be prompted to sign up for Ringya so they can get it as soon as we’re ready for them. In the meantime, you can communicate fully (calls, text messaging, emails) with all Ring (list) members, whether or not their phone is supported by Ringya.

What languages are supported?
Ringya currently supports English and Hebrew. More languages will be supported in the future.

Why does Ringya need my phone number?
Your phone number is used as your Ringya ID.
