Our Thoughts

My family were big fans of The Borrowers so we knew we were going to love The Secret World of Arrietty. Its filled with the kind of magic and charm that I love to share with my children. The Borrowers are little people that live under the floorboards, but like all teenagers, Arrietty is ready to face the world on her own.  But that world is a much scarier place when you're only four inches high, and Arriety has to look out for giant birds as well as humans who might mean her harm.  After he saves her life from a crazy crow, Arrietty befriends a human named Shawn, and together, they learn that they aren't really that different. They overcome many obstacles together including the kidnapping of Arriety's mother and Shawn's illness.

One of the highlights of this film for my two older kids was seeing Bridget and David reunited. As long time fans of Wizards of Waverly Place, they loved the mismatched romance of the wizard and the vampire. They have gone on to watch Bridget in Good Luck Charlie. Having these familiar voices backing the already lovable characters made this movie even more exciting for them. I personally loved Shawn's old caretaker.  She completely reminded me of one of the nuns at my grade school.  All in all, this was a wonderful movie with lots of action, great animation, and the moral that anyone can be friends if they just take the time to get to know each other.
