Who Do You Think You Are DVD Season 2 Review

I have always been obsessed with the past. I want to know where I came from, and the people who laid the ground for me to be where I am today. My family is able to trace their roots back to 18th century Italy, but there we hit a wall. My husband's family, though, can trace their roots beyond the Mayflower. My daughter is even eligible to be enrolled int he Daughter's of the American Revolution.  Many people like to find their roots, even celebrities. In Who Do You Think You Are Season 2, you can follow eight actors, musicians and comedians back in time as they discover exactly where they came from. Some will uncover secrets they never imagined, and some will feel a kinship with their past that most of us can only dream about. This is a wonderful, heart touching series that will make you want to delve into you own past.  Here is a little more about the series, direct from Acorn Media.

The fascinating series paints an intimate portrait of how a journey through history can change everything – including one’s idea of self (DVD 2-Disc Set, $39.99, www.AcornOnline.com). Season 3 premiered on NBC in February 2012.

Working alongside genealogists, researchers and historians, the stars excavates stories from their families’ past. Vanessa Williams finds that breaking down barriers runs in her family. Tim McGraw discovers the source of his own pioneering spirit. Rosie O’Donnell follows her mother’s roots to the grim realities of the Irish potato famine.
