SINGLE-HANDED, SET 2 DVD Review

I have always been a fan of crime television. There is something about a good murder mystery that really gets your adrenaline pumping. When the show in question also features a lone cop, with a sexy  Irish accent, its even better. With the amazing Single-Handed, Set 2, on DVD, you will be getting more than 300 minutes of back to back action that will leave you at the edge of your seat. Just sit back and enjoy TV drama at its best.as Jack Driscoll fights corruption in rural Ireland. I had never seen this series before getting this DVD set to review, but let me tell you, once I got it I was so enthralled I watched the complete set in only a few days. Even though I didn't see the first season, I was still able to follow along with no problems. Here is a little bit of info about the series direct from Acorn media.

Featuring three new feature-length mysteries from the critically acclaimed crime series, Single-Handed, Set 2 makes its DVD debut from Acorn Media on March 27 2012. Filmed against the spectacular and foreboding backdrop of Connemara, Ireland, Set 2 stars Owen McDonnell (Wild Decembers) as Jack Driscoll, the lone Garda sergeant whose personal life is inextricably bound with his professional duties in his insular community. Nominated for best drama series at the Irish Film & Television Awards and a silver medal at the New York Festivals Television & Film Awards, Single-Handed debuted on ITV in the U.K. in 2009 and has aired for four series. Set 2’s episodes are available to U.S. audiences for the first time. The DVD 3-Disc Set features the complete series four, which aired in the U.K. in July 2011 (www.AcornOnline.com, $49.99).

His position as local Garda sergeant puts Jack Driscoll at the heart of his community—and often at odds with it. Relationships are everything in his small Irish town, but when two new arrivals come from England (Matthew McNulty, Lark Rise to Candleford and Simone Lahbib, Wire in the Blood), eager to discover family history in the area, Jack learns that the solutions to current crimes frequently lie in the distant past. Oscar® nominee Stephen Rea (The Crying Game, V for Vendetta) also guest stars.

In Set 2, Jack investigates the seemingly pointless killing of an elderly recluse, a murder dressed up as arson, and a local schoolgirl’s involvement with a Dublin pimp.

If you want to get the advantage of a full set of amazing  stories that are loaded with murder and intrigue, than this is the box set for you. You can order  Single Handed, Set 2 beginning on March 27th, for only $49.99 at Acorn Media.
