Casper is the most famous ghost on earth, but unlike his spooky brethren, he doesn’t like to haunt or scare — He spends his time looking to make friends. In the original Paramount cartoons, Casper would often frighten some unsuspecting grown-up while befriending “Little Billy” or a small animal, but he’d then rescue one of them from a perilous predicament to become a local hero. In the Harvey comics, Casper would explore an enchanted forest, while the antagonizing Ghostly Trio would tease and heckle. Friends like cousin Spooky, Wendy the Good Witch and Nightmare the Ghostly Horse round out Casper’s supporting cast.
Our Thoughts: Who doesn't love Casper? He is a spook that has delighted children and adults for generations. I remember watching it on TV with my grandparents when I was a little girl, and I'm excited that Shout Factory has given me a chance to share this classic with my own children. Casper is a cute little ghost who just wants to make friends, but always scares everyone away. He does have one friend though. Her name is Wendy the Witch and she is one of my favorite characters. This DVD set has all the old episodes with Casper, Wendy, and his not so nice brothers. Watching this series is a great way to get warmed up for Halloween night. Its lots of ghostly fun but won't give your kids a fright.
