Windex Mini Review & Giveaway

Everyone's favorite blue glass cleaner is going green. That's right! Windex is taking steps to create less waste and make a difference with the brand new Windex Mini. There won't be any need to purchase plastic bottles anymore. Just use the concentrated Windex Mini formula and refill the bottle you already have. All you have to do is cut the package, pour it in the bottle, and add water and you are ready to go. The concentrated formula still gives you that streak free shine you except from Windex, without creating unnecessary waste. Here is a little more info direct from the company.

Windex MiniAlthough concentrates use less packaging, decrease shipping impacts and reduce waste, testing has shown U.S. consumers are averse to refilling household cleaning bottles. SC Johnson believes that the effort to shift consumer mindsets around concentrates is a bigger opportunity than it is a challenge, and the company is making a commitment to the exploration.
Currently, people buy 21 million bottles of Windex cleaners each year. If just 20 percent of those were refilled, each year it could:
·         Save 350,000 pounds of plastic - that's 26 million ballpoint pens
·         Avoid using 175,000 pounds of virgin plastic - that's 3 million soda bottles
·         Avoid transporting 735,000 gallons of water - that's more than  6 million pounds by weight

The product is available for purchase exclusively online at www.scjgreenerchoices.com. The site includes an open forum for consumers to allow SC Johnson to solicit product feedback in real-time, respond to consumers and make changes. Additionally, the Greener Choices site covers four main topic areas: Conserving Energy, More with Less, Reduce & Recycle and Everyday Alternatives.

SC Johnson wants you to have a chance to try out this great new product for yourself. One lucky winner is going to receive a package of the new Windex Mini and a reusable bottle of their own. To enter, just fill out the rafflecopter form below. Only one set of entries per person/household or IP address is allowed.

Grass prospers over weeds when the soil pH balance is close to 7.0 (or neutral.) You can get a pH tester at your local hardware store and resolve issues by adding lime if your soil is too acidic (most likely) or the sulfur in your soil is too alkaline

You can save $100 a year just by shutting down your computer, & not by putting it in sleep mode.

I learned this site is wonderful for learning how to conserve energy and has some great family ideas for doing so. It also has fun things to do like how to press flowers which I haven't thought of in years. Rita Spratlen rj_angel_house@yahoo.com
